Oh Good! We live in a country where children live in poverty without medical care, school supplies, warm clothing - but the house pets will be cared for with government dollars! It's not so much that I'm against caring for animals - my own four legged family members are as dear to me as my children - it's just that I can not understand a culture that opposes health care for all, yet will spend millions on animals. I love my dog, and if the house is burning I will try to get him out - AFTER my daughter is safe!
