It appears that there are going to be a number of illegal immigrants without work with all of these contractors being but out of business.

Great, hee are a group of individuals trying to earn a living, trying not to pay ransom to their local government, so what happens?

What always happens. The boot come down on the neck of the little guy while the pr-icks in the mansions rob everybody blind.

I can't wait for this country to collapse under its own weight. No wonder nobody wants to work hard anymore. When you do, the government just comes in an robs you blind.

This is good. Now lets go after all of the greedy businessmen who hire illegal invaders so they don't have to pay Americans a living wage. Start with the local restaurants.

Awsome the private sector has been rapeing the public for years now. The corruption and lawlessness has been disgusting and costing the taxpayers billions in supporting their illegal work forces. They are ruining the economy...

So you are ok with all of these "individuals" who stole money from people, and either didn't do any work or never completed it?

There is a reason contractors need to have a license, mostly to prove they have insurance in case they do something stupid like burn your house down (it happens more often than you think).

How about all of these clowns just follow the law and not try to game the system so they can pay illegals with cash, get paid with cash and never pay any taxes while they plead poverty.

If all of the clowns in NY who work for cash actually paid proper taxes, the rest of our tax bills would go down and we would all be paying less.

But go ahead, defend the criminals. I don't like paying taxes, our government is way, way too big, but these guys are not the ones who deserve any sympathy. I'll save mine for those of us that do.

Lesson learned, call illegal aliens by lets say 'unlicenses immigrants' and maybe the county or state will set up traps for them.

Doubtful of course, instead the taxpayers can pay for them.

The Nassau License is a complete joke. At least in Suffolk the Contractor has to take a test of some sort to get the license and then needs to prove that they carry Insurance.

In Nassau you write them a check for about $400 and they give you a license. What's the point of that??- Besides the income Nassau derives from the fee????

If we all make sure that we only hire licensed insured legal contractors and landscapers there would not be any problems. You know the one's without any identification on their trucks. If it wasn't for the cheap homeowner's {rules don't apply to me mentality}they wouldn't exist.I've got one up the block with a big STOP WORK order in the window.Too bad.

GoFy- can u even read?? these contractors arent innocent, hard working individuals! they took money, thousands of dollars for work they never performed and never intended to. maybe you should learn to read next time. or maybe you are a crooked contractor yourself.

Maybe if they paid taxes like all of us who work in the real world, I wouldn't mind. Most, if not all of these guys dont pay income taxes on the money they earn, don't pay payroll taxes, social security, medicaide, etc... all us taxpayers foot the bill for these people
