HOW MANY HAVE ISSUES WITH PEOPLE LOITERING? I am sure many of you have dealt with teenagers hanging about your property, front steps, etc. They deceive you with their "I'm sorry" "My Bad" but what do these comments really mean when they were TRESPASSING in the first place? Recently, the town furnished blue recycle trash cans and yet no one seem to use them for recycling but to just throw regular trash. I notice that there was no change in the trash that I would see in the street and on my front lawn. Many of these so called Teenagers drink alcohol openly, violate private property, and smoke MJ openly. Is there anything we can do? Calling the cops will only get repercussions and no real change? So what are the cops for? Appealing to local departments doesn't work. I have tried calling the COPS BUT THEY SIMPLY TELL THEM TO MOVE ALONG?

Tell the white ones to stop behaving like whiggers. Openly call them out on their whiggetry. Tell the kids that good white men don't abuse drugs and alcohol and are courteous to their neighbors. Tell the parents of the white kid to throw out the kids rap crap. That will curb these kids' BS by a large margin.

As far as the black and mexicans (10 years ago, a mexican was a completely exotic sight in Delco) there is not much you can do. Tell the white kids they should be hanging out with their own kind, so that they don't pack up with loud blacks who usually end up as the chief negative influence.

Yes I have that also.Loitering,trashing my property(live in a end of row home)but also adults toss their waste onto my property,leaving me with a constant chore of picking up after them.I don't go to their homes to throw out refuge.I can just as easily go acroos the street and discard my trash.Many when reaching my home,just stop and linger.Nothing here anymore interesting than at their own homes.Even the nearby "no loitering" signs have been vandalized.When I was at pre-teen and teen age years,I never "hanged out" on a corner or store.Boring to do so.A young girl,about age 8,woke me up after being awake all night(illness).When I was better,I was finally able to sleep,until this 8yr.old girl decided to play behind my home,below my bedroom window.I asked her to leave.She cursed me out!Pretty foul words from an 8yr.old mouth.She lives across the street,but likes to play at my home on my property.Same with some boys who play football,basketball bouncing,at the ally behind my home.They also live across the street,have a back ally,but want to use the ally where I live.There's a mini-park also at the end of the street,about 120ft.away,won't play there.Called the police for loiterers also,same results,tell them to move along,then they return.Not much in the way of enforcing law.A warning should be issued,then the next a fine.

I know a teen that does work for me,his sister use to date my nephew,listens to black music,lives as a black person.Forgetting his culture,heritage.His parents seem to lack the ability to control his "hanging with the homies".He is under black control to do their "buisness".He use to be relyable beforehand,since hanging with them,he is with negative influence.any race can,should be proud of their heritage,nothing wrong with that,as long as yours isn't forgotten.His heritage is seldom mentioned,he's forgetting his heritage.Wants to impress the others,so lives that heritage.

Why does this always have to be a black and white thing with you white people. A culture is a culture and you can't live as a black person. If you know how we black people think, we want nothing but good in our lives but there are also the other blacks that do things to ruin that vision. There is no such thing as black control if someone adapts to a "street" lifestyle. You people are always seeing race and color. Not all of us blacks are bad. A good amount of us are very good. That just goes to show you how ignorant white people are to label race on everything. You guys don't have a clue about us black people. You see all the bad and focus on it. So thats fine. Do what you guys need to do and we will continue to do what we need to do.

It is brought on by the BEHAVIOR of blacks,not the decent ones,I know very good black people,went to Lansdowne-Alden school,now called Peen-Wood.Not one bit of racial trouble.What you read here is about mostly the ones that hail from west Philly.The ones that bring most those problems here.Also,I have a black nephew,my sister in laws sisters son.He's 22 now.I ended back in Upper Darby when my dad 's job closed down.So,we had this nice large home in Lansdowne,had to move in a home a third the size.He took a temporary job driving a cab.Well.3 black guys called for a cab,it was a set up,when my father arrived,the attacked him,broke ribs and arm,only a passer by in a car stopped to intervine.If not for that,he'd be dead.Then my grandmother,at age 80,lived in S.W.Philly all her life in the same home.Blacks began to move in.She was finally the last white person there.They threatened to burn her house down if she did'nt leave,twice attacked her while going to the corner store.Brave young healthy black guys attacking an old lady.my sister in law and her brother also attackd daily when in Bartram school,by blacks.Most white people here have has their only example of blacks,are those kind.Therefore,the view we have.I only need to look out my home and see a once nice neighborhood,safe at night,quiet at night,well kept homes,very little vandalism,go from that to a blighted one.One only need to read the newspaper,or see a store video of the criminal,and usually a black person it is.Mine is one of many like stories that cause this opinion of blacks.I want to go to center city,like I use to and see current exhibits,or go to Penns Landing,but I would have to go through west Philly to get there.I and my mom were on a return trip home by bus,and those last 2 times(we the only 2 whites) heard "suggestive" talk about doing harm to whites.So,I have'nt been back to the city since,and that was 6 years ago.I was a witness to an attack to a white teen boy by 5 black teens,2 which live near me.I was the only adult to help.Black parents here did nothing!!See,I said before,I want all races to live together in peace.Difficult when being a "target" when out in public among the blacks in U.D.I do know some very good ones,my neighbor and her daughter are very fine people,I also met a black man nearby,had a nice converstaion with him,met his wife breifly.If all were like he and I,my neighbors,there would be no racial troubles.That is my hope for us all,to be learning to live together,regardless of heritage.I could just as easily be born into any culture,and I would want respect,to live in peace.It takes all concerned to learn how to live with each other,we all need to make efforts,not one or the other.There is a social system,morals and to adhere to that would greatly help with this.Especially when living in close quarters,such as row homes.Respecting each others way of life matters.The walls are'nt that thick.

If i saw you or heard you speak like that id curb your stupid selfish slang i dare you to come to upper darby with that bs on top of that where would you like teens to go???? bowling rollerskating rink, or a dance. None of these things are around no more before you judge look first at what they could do.

I understand that there are some horrible blacks out there. How do you think that makes us good blacks feel when we hear about things like this happening? It doesn't make us feel good. We don't sit there and cheer the people on who commit acts like the ones you have mentioned. We hold our heads down in shame because we "the good blacks" don't dare to do things like this. I will be the first one to admit that some of us do horrible things but what can we do about it? We take time to talk to our own people and tell each other what we need to accomplish in life and what we should be striving for. If they don't listen then hey that's on them. IT IS a black & white thing, Conshehocken Dave. The basic point I've always made is the difference in the quality of life in Upper Darby since blacks moved in. You can spout all the sociological-economical gobblety gook you want. You can't change that simple fact. Calling it like I see it.

OK OK... Lets all assume that there is one single race, no cultural divide, and we have but one rule... The rule of Law. Our current ownership system allows us to procure property, and give us all the rights that comes with owning that property. Whether it is riparian, subterranean, or aerial rights, the rules states that if you buy that property, you own it and have the right to enjoy it. If I bought a car with my hard earned money, and some random stranger could drive it away like its there's, we know that's wrong, its called stealing. So why don't people see that being in someone's property is the same way? You wouldn't eat you're feces would you? You wouldn't steal a car would you? People who are "poor" in the U.S. don't know squat until the visit a third world country. Upper Darby is a White Suburban DREAMLAND compared to other parts of the world. How can you starve when your own government gives you money, food, etc. I have seen the projects near University City. Every single home looks beautiful, but all the backyards have a baby pool, barbeque, and directv satellite dishes...... what is you priority??? I have also heard quite a lot about the shootings in the playground and yet you let your kids play there??? hmm... would you let your kids play in a lake with alligators.... no.... so my conclusion is, everyone in UD is crazy, there is no rhyme nor reason, i am just glad my right to bear arms is still written down somewhere :)

BUT THERE ISN"T ONE SINGLE RACE. I don't care about all the socio-economic blah blah blah, or "what if" theories. I want my old neighborhood back. Very selfish of me, I know, but I don't care. Yes, yes, very selfish of me to want to be able to walk down the streets of the area I grew up in at night, and not fear for my life. Or in the day for that matter. As for letting my kids play anywhere...I don't. Thankfully I don't have any. And I've seen the projects with the swiming pools and bar-b-ques. I drove a taxi in Philly for 6 years.

Part of your queries is correct in ownership of a home,to enjoy it and the rights that go with it.However,no one has a right to intrude on the next homeowners rights either,especially a rowhome.When one persons "rights" intrude upon anothers,then those rights are no longer applicaple,because you take away that persons right to enjoy their home with thier hard earned cash.That can be checked out with a lawyer.I also have people actually come on my property,even just now,I stopped while on line to go out back to see wahts going on,4 kids from a block party on the next street,are at MY home.The block party not here,over on their street,so why are they at the back of my home,disturbing my life,in my own home?They have a home,I assume earned by paying mortgage/rent,whatever.So,exer cise their rights there,not here.Upper Darby IS becomming a "third world country".No need to degrade this place,it was once this so called "white dreamland".I and those formally of this town,did'nt turn it into a lesser quality place to live.So.who's to blame for it's transformation to a land of blight?Why would anyone want to turn a nice place into a place of blight?What is the purpose?Does a nice place not fit a certain lifestyle,so need to turn it into a junkyard so they can feel at home?I want to know why.All these homes and streets were decent,clean,maintained properties.Why the need to ruin that?When anyone comes to live in a good town,why would that person desecrate it?Why?Not happy with living in clean,decent town?

My point about socio-economic BS is that it is BS, I was hoping you caught that :p haha, but anyways the point there was exactly what how I see it, things are crazy; I understand that you do want your old safe neighborhood back, and it is not selfish of you to want to have the right to enjoy those other rights that you have like living, breathing etc. My point is that its no longer about maintaining order, but its more like how to lessen the effects of chaos. The fact that some of you want to concentrate on the detail of law, doesn't change the fact that there is something wrong. I feel its time to move on. If you have the means good, if you don't try, and try hard!. What do surgeons do when a necrotic limb threatens the rest of the body? They cut it off... what has the rest of the original UD residence do when they experience a similar change, they moved away.

I and others have moved several times to seek a better quality of life.One can only move so many times,when your income lessens.The home I live in was sold reverse mortgage,in order to survive this failing economy.That or learn to live on the streets.I went to high school,had a good job,but physical ailments and a few injuries left me not able to work,long enough to support myself.

Yes,things are now crazy around here.Com mon sense is virtually non existant here.As in,when living in a row home,what you do DOES effect the people living next to you,and those activites done in ones home certainly affects the next door neighbors life and ao on,a concept that is not known among the current residents.Want to live in a manner that is going to extend further than ones property,then a home with lots of space between anothers home should be sought,otherwise,conform to a life that has limitations,as is told to me as advice.To put the biggest investment(for most) is a home and to have that effort wasted because of ignorance,is hard to live with,and should'nt have to live that way.A simple matter of respecting each others life in a confined space.And,to get back to this topic,we have teens and younger that litterally come onto our property,linger near our home to play,make noise,when some actually live on another street.Whats wrong with staying to their own space?Bouncing basketballs,flipping skateboards,water pistol playing,tossing football,all about my home.These kids-teens have homes,but don't seem to want to play there.Just as much room there,they also have back allys.I guess my home is more popular to loiter.Nothing here that isn't at their home as far as I can ascertain.The ailments I have sometimes require sleep at various hours,day and night.When loitering at my home(on my property or next to it)I cannot rest as needed.it's more than that,there is damage done to outside items,such as trash cans,fencing,garbage(food that is) dumped on the ground,then I have to clean up someone elses mess.I have adults who park their car alongside my home,work on them,leave trash at my curb.I guess they are not aware of trash bags,to bring one along.Even in front of my home when checking the engine,I bring out a trash bag.Last 4th of July.only one family was on the street partying.Food containers and the utensils left on the sidewalk alongside my home along with discarded firework casings,some of those casings tossed into my yard,while 4 adults are in clear view of their kids doing so.No trash bag was put out for them from the parents,just let that guy pick up our mess,is the attitude here.I did'nt put in 40 years of investment living here to be someones butler.so,what about the money I put up before those people were even born?I guess it does'nt count.I would never move anywhere and not conform to what has been established.If I don't agree with what is established,then I look elsewhere for what I do agree with.Rowhomes are a mistake of history.Those type homes should never been constructed,with the way human nature is.Bunched up like a can of sardines.it happens with animals.Coop them up too close together,they become easily agitated,same with people.We get on each others nerves.Each trying to live life the way we want,can't be done when having others live right next to each other.Trouble is guarenteed.This is why people had respect for how next door neighbors lived,how they managed to live with each other.That concept is all but gone,and this is why living in rowhomes are a bad way to live now.Back in the early 50s-60s,that concept was adhered to,so that all can live life thier own way,while being in close quaters.
