"The judge didn't like that the sales agreement was negotiated by Mr. Hecker and Mr. Walser and that they didn't seek the trustee's involvement," said Matt Burton, a lawyer representing the trustee, Randall Seaver.
This trustee doesn't know his ash from a hole in the ground. Anything that would generate cash for the situation is a good thing. Most trustee's have an ego bigger than an elephant anyway! |

1 When I worked at Southview Chevrolet, there were 23 other Chevrolet dealerships in the Twin Cities Metro Area. There were only 7 Toyota dealerships and Toyota sold more vehicles in the US than Chevrolet. It is easy to see why this dealership is coveted and why owners would agree to just about any purchase arrangement. Toyota is the future and this is the only Toyota dealership in Northern MN. Toyota dealerships are hard to come by also. Only a select few owners have one. |

Even if the money goes to pay creditors he still ends up with 2 free cars and free gas. Besides, how much consulting would he be able to do from prison?

Don't tell that to the Toyota dealers in St. Cloud, Bemidji, Virginia, Duluth, Grand Forks (ND), and Superior (WI)....there's enough Northern dealers that the customers can drive a bit and shop for a deal. Hecker's franchise should, and probably will, be pulled from him. Toyota can then control the sale to the dealer they choose. Walser should distance themselves from Hecker...that type of association only exposes what Walser must be about! |

1 I hope the deal falls apart, and you get half the money in a few months. I'm sure the people who are waiting for whatever proceeds they can get will be thrilled. |

I have no problem with selling his borrowed assets to help the others he stole from to buy his property, however it's the kinky nature of his deal, he wants to be paid as a consultant?! he wants to get paid doing nothing, this guy couldn't buy a happy meal without a loan period end of story. When Petters gets convicted the next trail will be The state of Minnesota vs. Dennis Earl Hecker or the United States vs. Dennis Earl Hecker......By by Jabba

It's simple, change the consulting contract to one year. Add the money saved to the purchase price. Walser will do it, then the money goes to creditors instead of giving Denny easy money for an extra three years.

Denny stopped making payments on the dealership and it closed up so how in the he!! would he see a single penny from the sale of this place .... wouldn't the place be owned by the company holding the motrgage

I have never heard he owed anything on the dealership (building and franchise). In that case, he can sell and use the proceeds to pay his debt. It also sounds like the cars are paid for, or Toyota would have been able to take them back as collateral on his loan. Sometimes even people with debt own some of their property outright... |

The next closest Toyota dealership to the Brainerd one is in St Cloud, 58 miles away. The second closest is in Bemidji, 85 miles away. That's not much for competition from other Toyota dealerships. |

I had read that he stopped making payments on the place and it then closed up .... at this time I don't remember where I read it(maybe at star trib site) but i did read that within the last day or so |

just saw it on the star trib site .... Toyota had been running the Brainerd dealership for months after Hecker DEFAULTED ON HIS LOAN PAYMENTS ....Toyaota closed it down last month .... so why does Denny get any of the money if the place sells ??

Maybe you should do some research on Bob Ebert and the Walsers before you spout off. Notice that Bob was a service director for Walser, running several service departments. Service advisors alone work in excess of 60 hours a week--imagine what their director must put it. Likewise for the Walser brothers; you can't run a multi-franchise business without putting in effort. Let me know where you read that Bob and the Walsers got wealth handed to them. It is called hard work. |
