Must be the water in Ottawa County . . . she will plea down to time served, or some other Pontifical Exemption like all of the law enforcement officers there seem to do. . .

She must have been the aggressor or she gave the officers a bad time, to have been the one arrested.....they would have thought long and hard before arresting one of their own....

That was on the news tonight. The MSP just finished their investigation into it, and turned it over to the prosecutor.

Ok guys the story the Press is telling us is that they are having problems and are moving out of the house. At some point she kicks him and leaves a red mark. Now lets assume that is all that happened for a moment. He knows obviously that she is a cop and a Domestic Violence is fatal to her career. How much of a wimp punk do you have to be to call the cops because you have a red mark on your leg from fighting with your wife when you know it is fatal to her career?

About time. Did they turn it over to the Muskegon Prosecutor. I still think that they whole thing should have been removed from Muskegon. Someone hear mentioned that there would be a jurisdictional problem turning it over to lets say Ingham County. I just heard a story from a nearby county where the Oakland County Sheriff came in and handled the investigation so there must be some provision for bringing in another county when the MSP has a conflict.

Looks like Muskegon county, I thought these cases usually went to a different county due to the fact that a lot of judges, are familiar with the officers.

Terminal, unless you get first offender diversion treatment because part of the 1990s assault weapons ban was a federal law that says if you have a DV conviction, no gun, ever. That part of the law did not expire with the ban. That at least is the way it is interpreted here in MI.

By the way I did not mean to say that this male officer was a punk, I was saying IF that was all this was about that is pretty punky. On the other hand maybe she called the cops.

You are correct there has to be more to the story, like maybe she refused to give up the bad attitude when they showed up. I wonder if this is alcohol fueled, not much more explosive than two drunk cops breaking up. Again we are not trying to describe what happened here, pure speculation.

The cost in training and development of sworn officers is staggering, and any township or county that automatically ejects that investment, for a simple domestic battery arrest, would not be considered fiscally responsible.....r
