I think I saw this guy. I was doing 110 in my Caddy, which is as fast as it will go. He pulled up along side of me, rolled down his window and shouted, "Hey Buddy, how do I get this car out of second gear?"

No, wait...that was a little Nash Rambler!

Never mind.

20 years ago on interstate 5 in Oregon, I was driving home from work and wanted to see how fast my 69 Firebird 400 would go. Got it up to 145 before chickening out.

As I was slowing down, still doing 80+ mph I went around an unmarked cop car. I glanced over and he was holding his badge up in the window. He saw me coming on like a mad man in his rear-view mirror.

No ticket....got lucky that day.

I had a '57 Ambassador, stock with a 354 V-8, 4 bbl carb & a 4 speed automatic. Wasn't much on the road that would keep up with it back in the day.
After '58, it was all downhill for Nash/American Motors.

I got stopped on I-95 in my stock 88 Honda CRX SI back in 89. Cop said he was doing 120mph when I started to pull away from him.

No surprise a Civic could do 137 with a little tunning.

I tell you one thing, at 120mph, that person changing lanes more than a 1/4 mile ahead of you is a something to watch closely.

At 120mph you're on there azz and slamming on the breaks within a couple of seconds.

I see why the Autobahn has strict driving/passing rules. Distances get pretty short at those speeds.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Taurus

It's no good - the prospect of visiting the post-Christmas sales has become too tempting for you to resist any longer. No matter what you're doing today, you'll try to squeeze in the opportunity to dash around some of your favourite shops and see what's on offer. You could snap up some bargains but you should guard against the urge to splurge on items that you don't really want or need. The price of something may have been slashed but the acid test is whether you'd still buy it if it were full price. If not, leave it in the shop!
