Parent Patton Drive wrote: The situation only continues to grow, now while his mother is at work the home becomes” Animal House”. Their laddering the house and placing lawn chairs on the peak of the roof. They party & shoot their “pellet gun”… The garage is open for underage drinking and drug use on a 24 hour basis now! The underage son has no motivation to work; he’s drunk or high most of the time! It’s truly ashame that the teenagers hanging out there have no motivation to start a career or better themselves! They are product of poor parenting! Hi Parent -- What is your problem with this? I've been following this thread for several weeks now and all the posts say the same stuff over and over: 1) the minors are a bunch of delinquents 2) they do drugs and drink alcohol all the time, and 3) the parents don't care or take no action. What do you want out of this? If it is a problem for all the neighbors, get the police or local officials involved. If it continues and the squad car that makes the local call doesn't take action, reach out to the local chief and/or town elected officials. Just posting about it on this forum and doing nothing else isn't going to help the problem.

We live at the end of the block so we miss much of this but we do hear the crappy cars go up and down the street all hours of the night. They speed up and down and I am afraid of someone getting hit. I do agree that the houses on either side of the one in question are just as bad. We do notice alot of questionable people walk up and down the street. They walk to the corner of Nimetz and Patton pause for a minute, if it looks OK, they keep going down Patton other wise they turn around and then come back in an hour. Our assumption is they are looking for drugs and waiting to see if it is a good time. If we would have known how the block turned out, we would have not purchased the house.

It’s truly ashame that one bad apple can have such a negative effect on a whole community! The boy’s mother apparently lacks any parental skills, and sadder still that she has contact with so many other teenagers furthering her bad influence. She allows the underage drinking, drug use and unsupervised behavior of the minors on her property. We have also witnessed the sale of illegal substances within and in front of her property. Her son is unemployed so I suspect that’s his only income. Maybe it’s time we organize as a community and push the issue with the Police & Mayor!

It seems things have settled down for the last week, I heard through the grapevine that one of the neighbors installed a surveillance system and recording the situations. We all hope the parties etc will come to an end. We will have to wait and see!

Well things are back to normal, Two Police cars were seen infront of the house on Monday, 7/9/12 @ 3:45 pm. The son is back to his old tricks, drinking, smoking pot etc. The mother is "Brain Dead" she just continues to allow this to go on. There was a large group drinking & smoking pot last night.

Maybe its time we organize, we can take turns calling the PD everyday, maybe then both he and the Police will get the point! One person reporting is noy enough, we need to handle this situation as a group! We can not allow this situation to go on un-abated ant longer. He & his Mother are a threat to public Safety and the welfare of our community! Its time we all stood-up and be counted! Call the Police everytime you see underage drinking parties or smell pot coming from the area! Its the only way we are going to put an end to this un-rully situation.

Good luck, "Resident"; some of us have been posting this suggestion for the longest time. Thank goodness there's a Patton Drive resident who's willing to take the initiative, instead of doing nothing but venting on this blog. Again, Good luck to you all!

Best of luck to all the good residents of Patton Drive! I'm sure that there are a few others there who don't read or post on this blog, but they're completely fed up of these delinquents as well and will be more than glad to join in.

What in the world has happened to the children of America? All over the United States kids are acting like half-crazed monsters, but most people seem to think that this is "normal". American kids today are selfish, self-centered, sadistic, cruel, disrespectful, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, boastful, unforgiving, incredibly brutal and they possess very little self-control whatsoever. They feel entitled to everything, but they don't want to work for any of it. They are absolutely addicted to entertainment, and they know very little about self-sacrifice. Disciplining children is not considered to be "politically correct" in America today, and with each passing year these little hellions get even worse. So what in the world is our country going to look like when all of these out of control kids grow up?

Disciplining children is not considered to be "politically correct" in America today, and with each passing year these little hellions get even worse. So what in the world is our country going to look like when all of these out of control kids grow up? Well, it's up to the parents to educate the children to behave as normal members of society and not little troglodytes (these are exceptions -- there are plenty of normal, well-behaved kids out there). Unfortunately, many parents choose to protect poorly behaved kids rather than educating them. The Patton Drive house is a perfect example. A while back I was in a supermarket in this area where I found a teenager (~16-17) seated on the fresh meat as if it were a bench. His butt-cheeks were literally marked on a family pack of ground beef he was seated on. My wife and I walked over and told him what he was doing was disgusting, that someone was would be buying and eating this. His mother was nearby and came running over when she saw this. She started to pick a fight with my wife and I because we "did not ask the boy to get up nicely enough". She didn't mind her son sitting on ground beef, but her big issue was that we weren't nice enough with him. Unfortunately, there's a lot of this attitude going around.

I'm with you, "Read It", and "OB Reader". Not that I'm defending the teenager who was sitting on the meat (or his mother), but sometimes there's a fine line when an adult reprimands someone else's child (even if they're a teen). That is indeed absolutely disgusting for someone to sit on food! My advice would be to just get a store employee or manager to handle it. But thanks for using your gut instincts as a decent, caring human being. Respectfully, "Skizots".

I know what you mean -- I'm a parent and know how I'd react if another adult went up to one of my kids. Also, would prefer to have a store manager handle the issue, but: 1 - By the time you find a manager, explain to him/her what happened and get them to take action -- the kid and his mother are long gone. 2 - This was a knee jerk reaction. What he was doing was so gross that I couldn't help myself from saying anything. Note that I wasn't disrespectful or anything -- didn't yell at the kid, but just asked him if he realized what he was doing was disgusting and that someone would be eating that meat.

Yup, I agree with you, "OB Reader". By the time you find a store rep, it would be too late. So, you did the decent thing and reprimanded him in a respectful manner. Unfortunately, many of today's so called parents don't know how to raise their kids properly. Even though the parent wasn't happy with what you did, it was your sincere intentions that actually did make an impact on that child's mistake. I betcha he'll never do it again! As far as the Patton Dr. situation, I hope that the neighbors will stick together and continue to voice their concerns to the police.

The Patton Drive Underage Drinking house has reopened for business, the boy’s were there Tuesday, August 7, 2012 night until 2 am drinking Etc. Things were quite for awhile guess they wore out their welcome where ever they’ve been for the last couple of weeks. The usual gang was there, most with new vehicles, it’s strange that these kids can change vehicles constantly, but most don’t have jobs, it makes you wonder how they can finance the constant vehicle changes. It’s also funny that they don’t transfer their old plates but get new ones…. The backyard detached garage has become a safe haven for underage drinking, and drug use! The constant vehicle traffic and noise from their illegal exhaust systems disturb the pace and quite during the evening hours, and the street becomes congested with teenage vehicles to all hours of the night. It’s once again time to start calling the PD again…. This has become a vicious cycle! The for sale sign is still out front, one can only hope it sells soon!

With drinking until 2AM, I'm surprised that the police did not get at least a half dozen phone calls from the neighbors during that time!

The son is back in business; his underage drinking parties start about 10pm and go on until 3am everyday for the last week. The Sayreville Police have been informed they respond but it seems to have no effect on his behavior… It’s truly amazing how ineffective the Police have become. You never even see a police patrol car go up our street. Yet they are fully aware of what’s going on nightly. This kid and his gang get drunk every night and then operate their motor vehicles. They race up and down our street all day long! The mother allows minors and underage individuals to use drugs and consume alcohol in their detached garage. The son has no motivation but to drink and sit on his ass! The mother is either brain dead, or has no clue on how to be a responsible parent. I am at a loss on what to do next. I guess it’s time we report this to another law enforcement agency like the state police.
