There is no doubt that possibly severl people know what happened to Maura Murry February 9, 2004. Enough information has been brought forward to indicate some communication with police at least by one person.

I can't believe how much time has passed since she "disappeared". I've been by where it "happened". Did the FBI ever get involved? If not, they should.

I believe someone was responsible for her disappearance and whoever that person was must live in the area...just my thoughts. I hope they are caught so her family can have the closure they deserve.

To find out what really happened to her why not ask the policeman who responded to the scene!
Since it was snowing and she would have left foot prints I would think the police would have followed them!
Interview the Police that responded to her accident and maybe information her location might be found!

Unless someone took her to their home and she can be found in a backyard or under some cement.

I apologize if I offended any family member of Maura. I am just trying to be helpful. Did they check all of the neighbors properties??

If I lived nearby where she disappeared and an LE asked to search my property I would absolutely invite them in and let them roam wherever they wish.

There were more than one land and air searches done in the area.
As a mother each time I drive by the tree with the blue ribbon I feel sadness wondering where Maura is and what happened that night 4 yrs ago.
I'm also saddened that the very site that should be helping to find her(MM site)is biting the hand that they want to feed them.
It seems that every person that tried to help Maura that night whether it was to stop and help or to call the police has had their names and reputations dragged through the mud with some terrible accusations aimed at them on a public forum for the world to see.
There are a couple of people(especially one) that cannot hide her disgust and disdain for the people of NH and in particular the locals that live near the accident scene.
Just a few of the names that this person enjoys calling the locals are sheep people, dirt bags, scum bags, illiterite, monkeys, ostriches, ignorant, a nest of rodents that sleep together and the latest is that we need to be Lysoled. To her I say PFFFT!!
And they actually wonder why there isn't much input from the locals. IMHO the few that did give their opinion were accused of being red herrings if their ideas were different than what the old time posters thought happened.
I don't think it has ever even occured to them that RT 112 is a main route to Loon Mountain from the Interstate in Wells River and many strangers travel that road.
It's much easier to blame the locals for what happened even if there isn't any absolute proof that a crime was even committed.
I will continue to drive by the blue ribbon with saddness in my heart for the young women that disappeared there.
I truly hope for her family that it comes to light what happened to her that night. We would ALL like to know.

I was saddened when I read your comments that indicate you and others would not possibly be forthcoming with any type of input because you have been offended.

I personally have traveled to Haverhill on a professional journalistic endeavor, to witness firsthand the lack of input you speak about.

Are you saying more than one land and air search is enough?
The very fact that every person you mention who was at the scene has not been questioned, would be more than enough, to raise a few eyebrows, wouldn't you agree?

And just who were they looking for that night? Maura or Fred?

As a mother what do you suggest? Investigators have been turned away by witnesses and local property owners have refused to allow searches.

What is there to hide?

Yes, we'd ALL like to know......

I never stated that no one would be forthcoming with input because they were offended. I said it was my honest opinion.
I will say though that when I first heard about the MMM site on our local news I went there with intentions of joining as I'm sure many others did too.
After reading some of the posts I decided that it was best to not join as it was apparent they were more interested in bashing the NH people and going over and over and over the same old stale ideas and scenerios. There seemed to be no interest in anyone that had new/different ideas.
I also never said that more than one land and air search is enough. I was simply answering Curiousity's question about property searches.
I truly don't know how many searches would be enough before they would become fruitless.
To admit you have come to Haverhill on a professional journalistic endeavor to witness firsthand the lack of input speaks volumes. Wondering if you actually got paid for that endeavor.
How can you say that ones at the scene and that I mentioned have not been questioned when we have all seen their statements being taken apart and scrutinized on the forum.
Please also keep in mind that a car into a snowbank is quite common here on the mountain roads. I'm sure if the outcome could have been predicted that night there would have been much more attention payed.
You ask what is there to hide.
Absolutely nothing that I am aware of which is why the name calling and obvious disgust for the people here is so hurtful.
Most of us were in our homes that night 4 years ago minding our own business. There was nothing we could possibly have done to change the outcome of that night unless we knew then what we know now which of course we didn't.
The only one that could have changed what happened that night was Maura.

It is my opinion that any question would be expected by officials who serve the public. It is their duty to stand by their public statements and reports. I read all of the reports published by Maribeth Conway for Hanson Express. I came away with more questions than answers. It would seem to me that local people would be filled with questions and would want to be helpful in finding answers to what happened that night four years ago.

You evade Curiousitys question, which was "were all the neighboring properties searched."
Perhaps this is why you leave yourself open to public scrutiny.
The correct answer is...no.

Why then if this was just another car in a snowbank did your responding officer keep approaching EMS away from the vehicle? If you are a local, you certainly have heard their concerns.

How many searches would be enough if your child were missing? One enough, six too many?

I assume you are asking if I am financially compensated for seeking information on this case, the answer is yes, perhaps you have seen my NY plates and those of my associates.

That question speaks volumes about your character.

As a person who resides in the North Country while it is common to see a car in a snowbank it is NOT common practice to ignore it, not to stop and not call 911. I came across a car in a bank not too long ago and the person said they were okay. I still called 911, stayed until police arrived and come to find out the person had a head injury and was dazed and confused and needed medical attention. What would have happened if I didn't do something????

Curiousity no one ignored the accident. Neighbors called and reported it and a man stopped on the sharp curve and offered help which was turned down.
Even though Maura told him she didn't want the police called he went home and called them anyway.
Since those people did the right thing and called for help their lives have been changed forever and not in a good way.
If you want to see how these people have been treated for trying to get help for Maura I would suggest that you go to the mauramurraymissing.com website and read some of the present and past posts.

Since there was more than one search conducted and places that weren't searched the first time were searched the second I cannot say with certainty what property was or was not searched. Can you?

It actually surprises me that EMS have voiced concerns publicly and no I haven't heard their concerns.
Since I didn't hear what was said to EMS with my own ears I can only guess that they were sent away from the vehicle because first there was no patient in the vehicle and second because the officer probably wanted them off of the sharp curve for their own safety.

Once again I will say that I don't know how many searches would be enough whether it be my child or someone elses. WHy do you keep asking that?
Are you trying to make me into a cold hearted person in the eyes of the public?

My whole reason for posting here in the first place was only to help bring Maura home by hopefully opening peoples eyes to the fact that degrading, name calling and narrow mindedness on the site that should be doing all they can for her will not help to find out what happened. The site has lost some very good people for these very reasons.

And no Monkey I haven't noticed your NY license plates. Should I have?

I see now that it is a lost cause. I will back quietly away before I become a victim of the witch hunt.
Good luck and I truly hope that someday Maura is found safe and is reunited with her family and friends.

Our take on this,(and I imagine the same belief on the Maura blog) is that there is a general sentiment of "oh well..."
Where are your questions to the authorities on this? Where is the FBI? The father is asking the same thing. Do you all not live in fear?

Now, we're getting the big bucks to find out why.

The Tahoe bashing incident is a big clue.

Help us, help you.

I'm sorry if people are being bashed. Of course, that is inappropriate. I don't necessarily agree with how people handled the situation that evening but what it really comes down to is how the police handled everything. They are supposed to be the trained ones. Just my opinion.

Webster's defines bashing as to attack verbally or physically.

White Mts, it would appear you have done a good job bashing the very web sight concerned with finding out what happened to Maura Murray 2/9/2004 when she disappeared near you. No more or less than what you accuse others of. Then you add insults to injury backing away quietly??? That's a joke!

For the world to see, you bashed MMM!
