Guess what Mr. Tucker, the same ordinances that apply to everyone else in East Berlin also apply to you. You can't just go and do whatever you want without first investigating what you are permitted, or not permitted to do based on the local zoning ordinances. ALL municipalities have zoning ordinances that apply to ALL businesses/residences in that municipality. Why do you think your business should be an exception?

What will the East Berlin leadership do when Tucker closes up and wrokers lose theri joba. You would think they would want to work with the company to settle this thing in a way that would benefit everyone. But then again I am confused.

Being unaware of the rules once (the sign) is understandable. However, the second and third times seems like more than a lack of understanding, it seems more like a willful disregard for the rules.
Unfortunately those in the business sector in this country seems to think that the rules that apply to us average folks apply to them as well. |

Oops...that should read:
Unfortunately those in the business sector in this country seems to think that the rules that apply to us average folks DON'T apply to them as well. |

No one likes zoning laws unless someone wants to build a recycling center next to your property. These laws are on the books to protect everyone, and scoflaws like Tucker should be harshly punished. I'll sure he will be when this case gets before a judge. HEY TUCKER! JUST GET OUT OF TOWN WITH YOUR INDUSTRY.

After reading these comments it's clear that Tucker has made a few enemies in East Berlin. That dosen't change the fact that if he takes his business to another area, more jobs will be lost. Wake up people, our economy sucks.

Bernie - too bad you can't just 'get out of Dodge' and let these morons deal with the fallout of lost jobs and tax money! Based on some of these responses, I believe we are hearing from some council members. I guess they haven't learned a lesson from when Nell's got out from under their greedy thumbs!

Sounds to me like both sides needs attitude adjustment in this case. Happy Days Wayne

Keep it up East Berlin, and you're going to lose this business when you can least afford it, with unemployment as it is.

If Tucker moves, I hope he moves FAR. Get rid of him then the stinktown paper mill then maybe we'll be able to breathe without choking.

To erase any confusion, I'm NOT a council member don't even live in East Berlin, however, I do understand that some people just don't think the rules are meant for them or think they deserve special treatment. You've got to follow the rules just like everybody else. Quite simple really. |

How many years was the EB council members going to let this go on before they notified Tucker of his violation. Seems to me his first building has been in operation for many years and the second building for well over one year. If the man was in violation, then why didn't they come to himright away. Smells like a witch hunt to me, they weren't having any luck with the sign ordeal so they decided to do some dirt digging to see what they come come up with. These council memebrs must really Dislike Tucker to make his business their life mission.

You people just don't get it. Zoning laws were enacted to protect everyone, and everyone must abey them just like they must obey capital crimes.
Loss of jobs, business taxes, and irate business owners aside, the law is the law. If we begin to pick and choose the laws we want to obey, where will it end. Here's an idea. Not enough jobs, not enough business taxes, too many people. OK! lets nuke about 3 billion or so. Why should we care if murder is against the law? |

your so full of shit......tyco industries was there for years.what the hell does it matter what bussiness is there now.... |
