"OOPS! I forgot to check the temperature of our refrigerator". Can you believe this?
|
|||
Now how many times do you check your temp.in refrigerator?I don't think most do,unless they feel it getting warm.Maybe this was the only thing in there and why would they have a reason to check temp? The only problem I have,it got to freezing point,usually it's the other way around,if something is wrong the temperature gets higher. |

Yes, I actually can, I tend to doubt that the vaccine was kept in science lab grade fridges. My guess is that they never took into account that when the fridge is not opened all weekend it can tend to get much colder. When our kids moved out the first time we had to raise the temp to keep the stuff in the bottom and back from freezing. The fridge was not being opened as often with only two of us there so it tended to get a bit colder. When they both moved back home [yea, they ALWAYS come back :-))))] we had to drop the temp a bit as it was getting opened more often [with an accompanying increase in temps but a large decrease left overs when my son came back]:-)))) A small sacrifice to have them back home again, even accompanied by their six cats and a dog. |

Freezing ruins most vaccines. The fridge must have been set too cold. If it was not being used before this, they might have made the mistake of turning the temp colder to get it to the right temp faster... which doesn't work BTW but we are all guilty of doing it with our thermostats at some point. Stupid mistake.:-( |

Maybe if they weren't busy with a dress code they would pay attention to more important things, make sure the Government sends the bill to Toleno.

If the fridge was in the nurse's office, it seems that it should have a thermometer in it anyway. I am not sure but I would think that medicines needing refrigeration shouldn't be frozen either. And with the special circumstances of having the vaccine stored there they should have taken a little extra care in the temp. IMO.

If I was a public trust and had 6000 doses of H1N1 vaccine that must be kept between certain temperatures, I would surely check and monitor the temperature in the refrigerator. It's not a pound of hamburger meat from Weis Market. Duh. |

Off center, sarcastic comment. What the hell does this have to do with the dress code. And, as a former educator and administrator of 27 years, the dress code is one of the best things they could have instituted. It eliminates so many other problems before they get started and sets a tone in any school. Idiot! |

Agree! |

off the topice you for adminstrator you support drug abusers right, figures look your stupid icon, a Yankee fan, drug abusers, roid abuse, half the team should be banned. Dress code is good gets the kids ready for the only job they can get at this time US Military Liberal. |

Yea, you figure they would have stored it at ESU in one of the real monitored lab refrigerators that set off alarms when temp varies and that are made for this kind of stuff, like they say, hind sight is 20/20...
Kinda like stoves, the last two we had could not keep the oven temps within 20 deg either direction. |

Pathetic reply on your part. Because I like the Yankess, I support drug abusers? That would be like me saying since you can't put together a sentence, you are an idiot. Oh, poor example since you are an idiot! And, one benefit of a dress code is it prepares kids for the working world where they will be expected to dress and act a certain way if they are going to keep a job...like no pants down below their asses showing their boxers, no excessive jewelry, no offensive t-shirts, no bubble-butt tight skirts, etc. |

One of the many reason's why my daughter is not getting the swine flu vaccine. The district should have already been set up with chart recorders, and trained designated individuals to monitor it.

She's not in daycare is she? Hopefully she's not around too many other kids where she could be exposed. I agree, the school really messed up with this. |
