I actually watched a lot of the preceedings going on in the House yesterday and last night. What struck me is the huge number of adults who endorsed this bill and seemingly then have no problem with the facts pointed out by those opposing it. It was indeed a sad day to see such a marxist, socialist, communistic ideology in blazing action right there in the house of the USA.
I think I now understand how obama got elected.

And what is / was your position when unemployment was 10.7 in 1982 under Reagan? Let me guess, it was Carter's fault -- even though Reagan had been in office for 2 years, it was Carter's fault.... let me further guess, that it is your position that today's unemployment can NOT be Bush's fault, even though Obama has been in office for less than a year.

Poor conservative, the Medicare program of 1965 is not the same Medicare Program we currently have.(ie. Medicare Part D etc.) The objective is to get the law passed and then as you state "morph" it to what is needed. LOL

Yup, it will be interesting to see what happens with a health care bill written by the pharma industries, health care companies and those who stand to make money off this. You dont really think that Pelosi and Reed plus the small group could have generated over 2,000 pages by themselves do you. This bill was not written by elected officials, it was written by bought and paid for officials.
You will notice they left themselves and the retired military out of it :-))))) I'm in the second category. It never pays to rile up retired military.I figure your tax increase will be in the neighborhood of 20%, maybe 25%. It will have to at least equal FICA. YOu may have to sell your walther.

I'd bet a paycheck on this:

1. even after 8 years, we will not have 96% of Americans covered.
2. not one person will have paid a fine, penalty, or served any time as a result of this bill.

In fact, I believe very little will change, if anything does at all. A small number may have coverage nuder a public option, but that's about it. The government has no way to implement or enforce what they are voting on.

Not to mention the constitutionality of this bill. Since when does the government have the right to tell citizens they MUST buy anything and if they do NOT, can then fine and imprison citizens? I'm not an expert in the constitution but from what I do know, i just don't see how this bill could be constitutional. Devil is in the details I suuppose....

And once again, our congress proves it is great at spending money it doesn't have.

And rebecca, you're right, this bill will NOT cover everyone though that's what we've been hearing for months that it's purpose is. It will also do ZERO to lower premiums. Makes one wonder why the bill was passed.......Those dems "say" one thing but their actions tell something else.

On to the Senate!

Where in the Constitution is the IRS mentioned? Put your logic to the test, stop paying your taxes for a few years and see if you are looking at a fine or prison sentence. LOL

First Rebecca, this bill,if passed, will be in litigation for years. It is totally unconstitutional. Lawyers are already gearing up for the fight. Secondly, you say no one will pay a fine or go to jail. Well, maybe not to jail but already it has been said that the fines will be paid for thru your taxes on a yearly basis...you know, the April 15th, thing we all like so much. Please look around, read, be alert...your freedoms are being taken away from you on a daily basis. This o man will make sure how he wants the game played it will end up being played. He is a childish egotist, a spoiled brat. Whether constitutional or not, in the end he wants his way and the communist croonies he has for so called "czars" are his ax men...they are doing the dirty work. I think you look at things thru naieve eyes...maybe it is your youth and the fact that you have not lived thru many administrations to realize what is really going on. What is going on in our country now is the history in Europe..Germany, Poland, etc. It has now landed here and people have still not learned a lesson from history...sad, sad.
You also said awhile ago that you thought when the o man gets out of office all this can be changed back. Listen to our Senators/Representatives...the y say the exact opposite. How the o man is making things almost air tight. You do not get a socialist in office who leaves holes. But, he is not fool proof. He may think he is in control but the bottom line is he is not. He is just a pawn and that is for another discussion.
Hope your little one is OK by now.

First let me say, give it a break with President George W. Bush. Are you people never, ever going to stop blame shifting? You are all sounding insane at this point.
Secondly, I do not remember ever hearing "it is Carter's fault" even though he was the second worst president in the history of the United States with obama being number one now. So please, do not make statements that were not out there.
Thirdly, if you will remember President Ronald Reagan landed our country back on its feet with our freedoms in place.
I hope we don't hear you complaining when your freedoms are taken away...remember, you love that idea....now.

PS..I notice on your profile you have George Bush as your favorite. Sounds strange you should be downing him on posts yet say he is your favorite...hum?

My observations:

First, its strange how you can tell me that no one ever blamed Carter for Reagan's poor 1982 economy. You are wrong.

Second, but you have no problem putting words in my mouth (you love that idea)-- how would you know?

Third, as far as my profile (and at least I have one, unlike you)- George Bush is a favorite topic of mine, not a favorite POTUS.

Fourth, you have allot to say about American politics -- esp. since your post indicate you are from Canada.

Are these the same lawyers that "geared up" to keep Obama out of the WH because they insist he was born in Africa? LOL, I sure hope so.

Unfortunately, when we all left one forum for this one, due to a shut down of the previou forum, some of us were not able to put in profiles nor locations. Canada came up for many of us. If you will look you would see that. I definately am from the great United States and am local to this forum. I see you are not local nor have you been here long.

Yes, I do listen to politics and participate. Say, have you called or written your Representatives to tell them to vote for the crazy so called healthcare bill? Have you attended any rallies to ask them to vote for the bill? Most of the people on our forums are active, aware and educated as to what is really going on. So pleassssse, unless you stand up and are active do not tell me and forum members about your beliefs without back up.
Now, would be great if you would please inform me, us, of when carter was ever blamed for anything with the exception of his horrible handling of the Iran situation. Re: that issue...as soon as Reagan was in the WH he took care of the situation properly. So, let us know about how carter was blamed for other things. And, don't forget, if he was blamed for things it more than likely was his fault...second worst President in American History so far.
