Sen. Graham: raise Social Security full retirement age to 69

Raising Social Security retirement age is like breaking a contract. People are already paying into the system, then they will be told retirement age will be raised to 69. No wonder people can't trust the government.

I am sole proprietor small business owner who pays double into SS as the law requires. I am in my early 50's. I have contributed almost $200k into SS. I would be FINE with retiring a few years later to help the country's finances for my kids' futures. NOBODY needs to retire before 70 in this country unless they are disabled.

And we should NOT be paying billions a year in every state for full medical for able-bodied adults.

Everybody complains, but nobody wants to make the real difference.

We are officially a country of self-centered whiners.

pay FICA taxes. We all pay 100% to the cap of $106,800. If the rich continued
to pay the 6.2% Social Security taxes on their earnings over $106,800, the
Social Security fund would be running over. A person making one million dollars
at 6.2% would be paying $62,000 into the fund. What is $62,000 dollars to a
millionaire? It certainly would not put him into the poor house, it would take a
lot of people out of the poor house. A CEO making five million yearly would pay
into the fund $310,000 yearly. What is $310,000 to a guy making five million
dollars?
If those who earned over $106,800 yearly were required to pay FICA taxes into
the fund, there wouldn’t be a shortage to Social Security and monies would be
available for all recipients to have a livable income. There are 7.8 million
millionaires as of 2009 in the United States at 6.2%, do the math. This is a
disgrace that the working middle class work all their life to live in poverty
after retirement. Senator Graham, you are asking hard working people that work in the coal mines, oil fields, carpenters , any back breaking jobs to work to 69? you wouldn't do that you sonofabitch!!!you condescending bastard

If the condescending bastard Graham paid SS on his earnings and every one that earns over 110,000 yearly paid SS on their earnings a lot of poor people could pay their medical bills and not just die, but that prick wants to raise the retirement age on hard working human beings to 69, he is hoping old people will die before they reach 69, and that goes for medicare and medicade
