As the first poster on this thread, and seeing that I've been tagged with enough red-exes and burned out lightbulbs to notice, I should have been more clear.
My original post: "Wow, what a Richard. Can someone kinda just "knock him out"? Like, permanently? How insulting to the cultures that have lived in that area for eons before he appeared."
It still stands true, but was directed entirely toward the mention in the article about this Richard asking his employees to use non-Hispanic sounding names. One of the most personal things about someone is their name. I can say with great confidence that if I worked in the public sector (or anywhere) and was forcefully asked to use a name that "sounded better", I'd a) drop a few red apples on that mofo and cause some damage and b) spread the word.
As far as requiring that English be spoken on the premises - understood and agreed...but not for the reasons stated in the article. Lived 24 years in Texas and New Mexico and doesn't understand Spanish? What a moron! I get an instant mental image of Col. Frank Fitz from American Beauty - total ignorant, judgemental, hypocritical pr!ck of a man. Betcha he jerks it to Hispanic pron every Saturday night just out of spite. If anything, having bilingual employees is smart business and financial benefit to this cretin.
Don't take my name, lest you take my history.
Speaking of "American Beauty", who killed the Kevin Spacey character? The wife or the neighbor?
