Fairfield U. to probe its ties to scandal-plagued Haitian charity
Fairfield University plans to hire a lawyer to conduct an internal review of the extent of the school's support for a Haitian charity founded by an alumnus accused of molesting he was supposed to be helping.

Hmmm - CT Post fails to mention that it also wrote articles in the past praising/recognizing Perlitz's accomplishments. Funny that is mentioned in these recent reports.

Unfortunately, perpetrators of all kinds of crimes are very skilled at hiding their acts. Look at the "BTK" killer. He got away with his crimes for years and was very involved in his church. It is really too bad that Fairfield University will be involved in this scandal and that a program helping some of the most needy in Haiti had to have this happen. I hope that these children will continue to be helped, but by those that will do it the right way and for the right reasons.

I wish posters would READ AND COMPREHEND THE WHOLE STORY. Obviously, Perlitz was not known to be a child molester when he was at Fairfield U or for some time later. Perhaps he hid it for some years. It is good, tho that he has been stopped. He definitely fooled many people that were helping and contributing to this charity because of their good intentions. |

These [alleged] salacious acts point to a need to investigate the potential for sex abuse of children in the programs of each Jesuit University that has links to humanitarian work in foreign countries.
Each Jesuit University in the USA needs to immediately inform the directors of university-related committees, which have links to humanitarian work in foreign countries, of the charges in the Fairfield-Haiti scandal to prevent this sort of [alleged] sexual gratification from tarnishing other Jesuit Universities. Fr. Thomas Smolich, at the Jesuit USA headquarters in Washington, DC, should act immediately. |

Fairfield University investigators should contact Cyrus Sibert reseaucitadelle@yahoo.fr a Haitian reporter who uncovered the scandal and raised the flag to the authorities. Fairfield University could also help the Northern foundation of haiti that also supported the fight against pedophiles.
