My boyfiend went to the clinic. it really helped him for a long time. but then it got to where it wore off early and all he wanted was another high. If you are only addicted to pain medicine then yes it will help you but if you are addicted to all kinds of drugs then its not for you.

The methodone clinic saved my life. It is the best thing that happened to me. Everyone that works there are really sweet. They don't treat you like you got a infectious disease. So if your addicted to painkillers, and you want help, try the Methodone. You will be glad you did. I highly reccomend it.

I have witnessed these clinics in another large city and they cause nothing but trouble for the surrounding neighborhood. They draw the undesirables in from other communities. The whole thing seems absurd and wasteful to me; simply because the clients are hooked on one drug or another, and the government hooks them on methodone which the government supplies at tax payer expense. Why not a program to free them from all substance abuse. Another waste of tax payer money just like the needle exchange.

How is it a waste of tax payers money when the ones going has to pay for it with there own money? TennCare does not pay for it.

Methadone is replacement therapy and no one denies that but to say that it brings the community down is ignorant. Also, TNCare is not paying for these people to get their dosage...they are! Therefore, know your facts before you post! Would you rather have an addict out stealing to support a $100 a day habit or allow for them to come to a "controlled" environment and pay $85 for a whole week and reduce the chance of "Risk taking behaviors" such as theft? Answer that one know it all!

Answer that one know it all! As previously stated, my answer is as follows. "Why not a program to free them from all substance abuse"? It doesn't matter who pays for the replacement therapy, I would rather see these people reporting for work on a daily basis as opposed to hanging out at the meth clinic all day like they do on the corner of 51st street and Avalon in Los Angeles, across from South Park, which is a city park, where they hang out and shoot dice, smoke dope, and drink wine. Apparently I am not the only one who needs to get a clue. I am guessing you have never witnessed the activity that takes place near and around one of these sites. Or maybe you have witnessed the activity by being a client or an owner of one of these establishments and condones the behavior.

Apparently you do not see addictive behavior or substance abuse as a problem. There are health problems associated with this behavior which ultimately falls on the tax payer as an obligation. And stop using there in place of their. Should be "their own money". And stop using has in place of have. Should be "have to pay for it".

Methadone did save my life 'till I could clear my head and think for myself.Don't be fooled the people that run these places are in it for the money (lots of the time Drs. that couldn't make it in mainstream)for a short time, less than 9 months it is good.I was on it 10 years or more the withdrawl is worse than anything that I've ever experinced. The clinic would sabotage when I tried to taper down to get off, they wanted the income.Don't pay ANY attention to people like the guy rcc posting that has never been "there" they don't understand that we don't get high off of it and that people going there are trying to make a better life for themself,it's a good start. I don't know where I'd be without it,I have been clean a little over3 years had to get a Dr. to write a regular 'script for me to taper off and it was still pure hell.GOOD LUCK and don't give up,dodge the people that abuse it by takeing to much or shooting.Forgive my errors in grammar, please.

I'll give you $100 for everytime you drive by the clinic in Dyersburg and the people are hanging out all day and shooting dice!! Just let me know how much I owe you!!! I have worked and assisted in several different clinics in cities in Tennessee and never witnessed the "hanging out" that you are talking about! You see, when a "real" clinic opens, the owners and staff don't allow people to congregate outside the doors and shoot dice and loiter! Good effort though on your part to attempt a rebuttal!
