I've recently moved from a noisy apartment complex into a nice house but now the new neighbors dog barks constantly. All during the day, all during the night. It stays outside, tied up to a cinder block, covered in dirt and flies, and probably fleas. The owner hardly ever feeds it, waters it, or walks it. I've called the cops to try to resolve the problem but nothing was ever done. I've tried to solve the problem in a civil way with the owner but she says the dog isn't going anywhere. Any suggestions on what the next step I should take should be? Please only serious comments. I need some sllleeeeppp!

Contact local humane shelters and the ASPCA. Please don't let this animal suffer till it dies. Don't be afraid to call the police daily if needed to get someones attention.

Good luck with that! Next to me is two viscous Pitbulls. Called the law several times, but they are "in ordinance" so therefore nothin can be done. One dog is freakin suffering and dying and the other one barks and growls at everything that moves. Good luck again!

Do you have a camera? Take pictures of its living conditions. Let the owner see you taking pictures and let him/her know you are watching the animal and are worried about its welfare. Call the local newspaper and ask them for help. You just need to get the right persons attention.
If what you say is true, the owners are in violation of the law. Good luck.

I've been in the exact same situation. All you do is buy you a great big bottle of Advil PM and a package of hot dogs. They you just put one Advil PM inside a piece of hot dog and, after dark of course, throw it over to them. About 45 minutes later you will have total silence. It is totally harmless. Just do not use Tylenol PM because that would eventually to liver damage to the dog.

Make a plate of meatballs, push rat poison into the middle of each meatball, feed it to the dog, dog will die, problem solved. That will be 75 bucks please.

dont give a dog asprins for humans. give the dog benedryl 25 mg capsules per 25lbs of dogs weight. and do call the cops more. they will get tired of the call and give a ticket. keep calling the shelter bc they can treat mange. their full of crap in that aspect. just being lazy and want to dip the dogs ... or thats what it sounds like. call usaspca too.

Just keep trying the humane soc and the police. Go to the Dresden Tn forum and there are several threads on the 2 that tortured and killed that puppy. There are a lot of animal activists on there and surely you will get something done.
Also please sign the petition while you are there. This story has gotten national attention and if you put something on there about this problem someone will be able to help you. OR maybe then the hs here will do something. Dyersburg sure doesn't want to look bad and this is being monitored by a lot o people.

thanks for all the suggestions. i will definitely take these into consideration. i will in no way harm the dog, it's not his fault that his owner mistreats him; but i do need some peace and quiet so i'll contact the right people constantly until something gets done.

Taks pictures of the conditions and go to PETA and other animal rights Facebook pages and post pictures along with the address and phone number if you have it. If the authorities will not do something then you have to otherwise its the status quo. Even when locals wont help there are hundreds of animal rights groups that will. Just be sure to approach it from "animal cruelty" standards and not just "I need sleep".
Personally I would probably just put the dog out of his misery if he is that mistreated, or wait until no one is home and go unleash him and take him somewhere and drop him off, then call the humane society about a stray.
I do not like dogs as a whole and would have no problem handling it if it were me but if you are looking for a more humane solution the animal rights groups are your best bet.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Leo

This is a great day for fixing things that have gone wrong. If there have been ructions in your relationship with a certain person this is when you can sort things out and get them back on track. If an appliance or gadget is going on the blink, this is your cue to either get it mended or chuck it out and replace it. You may also find time to tidy up your immediate surroundings or take all those bottles and papers to your nearest recycling center. How virtuous you'll feel when it's all done!
