Please note that these are my personal oppinions and that I am not violating my terms of service agreement nor do i work for any companys that would benefit from discredits towards new wave. THis company is only out to make fast money and lots of it they will eventually pack up and leave. I pray that verizon fios fiber optics come to south eastern kentucky and put them out of business because they are the worst company i have ever experienced in my lifetime. False advertisement of 15 megs, which has not been provided is the most common issue. Signal drops and poor download speeds is inevitable. I personaly pay for 15 megs download for the past year and have recieved no more than 8-9 megs maximum and majority of 2-3 megs recently for the past several months. There are alot of local petitions taking place, I am not sure on the terms of service agreements that fall with this, however, i know if you refuse to pay the bill for the service you are not recieving they will terminate your account. Also if you request a lower speed say 5 meg download package because us 15 meg package users are only getting 5 megs then you get 56k speeds so its a lose lose situation. I noticed in the post below about writing congress, but this company spends lots of money in their business department and have all corners covered. Remember as a non competitive market they can control the market and do as they please, which includes robbing all its consumers by charging high packages but failing to provide those services and will not even attempt to give refunds or reimburstments during thier times in which they fail to provide the service paid for. There are also articles to local news papers being submitted about the deadline date of march 13th gives by local tech's on the docsis 2.0 on the casing of the fiber optics. Which was supose to be finished by january of 2011 previously stated. There has to be someone out there with enough power to do something about this and help the consumers of eastern kentucky sadly though i don't think anyone cares. This company is taking advantage of its consumers and it has to be illegal to false advertise for something and recieve payments for it for 2 years that new wave did not even have the technology to support. That has to be fraud and they don't care about any of you on this board because as a non competitive market they can contorl the market in any way they please. you people don't understand that dsl technology cant support the speeds that cable can t1 is to expensive and verizon fios is not available here. THis is the only company that has rights to sell cable service in many areas across kentucky and ten. They are bleeding us dry and abusing us just to make huge profits then they will probably tuck tail and run.

We have had our cable and internet for three weeks. It has been down three times durning that. I was watching a good show tonight and it just went off. Called them and they said they don't know what's wrong with it. Guess it will take forever to get it back on.

I agree with all the negative remarks. We had the three services for 99.99. Canceled phone, bill stayed the same. They said we were now paying for premium internet (49.95 I think). The internet went out every day for 2 weeks, and when I called about 6 times the response was "you are getting too strong of a signal". Canceled internet last week and bill just for cable is over 60.00 per month. Absolutely ridiculous. Have heard about a new service coming to county, can't hurt to give it a try. Surely it can't be any worse than what we had.

I too am unhappy with NewWave. During the last three weeks we have lost service at night 6 times. I have the bundle package. So each time it went down, I lost phone, internet, and cable. Considering that I am taking college courses online, I need the internet and I need to be able to finish assignments and submit them by the deadline. Most of the time the deadline is between 12:00 and 2:00 AM. On two seperate occasions I had to submit assignments late due to the internet being down. You would think that NewWave would notify its customers beforehand when they plan to shut services down for maintenance. Each time I called I was told that service was down for maintenance and would be back up by 7:00AM. The thing that really upset me was that the representative told me that I may want to start submitting my assignments before the deadline. I should not wait until the last minute. No, they need to provide the services that I pay for each month. My submitting my assignments is none of their concern. I pay my bill each month for these services and I feel like it is not too much to ask that they provide them. I could understand if it were once or maybe twice that they were down for maintenance but so far it has been 6 times this month. We are seriously considering going back to AT&T and satellite television.

We have had new wave cable and internet for about 3 months. I have had more internet issues than I've ever had with any other provider!! The cable has gone out a couple times for no reason at all but, I work online and my husband is taking online classes after work. We need reliable internet. I can live with half way working cable. I am going to switch tomorrow. Not sure what to switch to but this is ridiculous and isn't going to get it! I am typing this from my cell because our internet is out... As usual!!

Get you a GOOD internet connection, Go to Walmart and buy a Roku box. This lets you watch the tele thru the computer. You would probably have to have an outside antenna to get local weather. I did, and I save about 600.00 per month.

The cable internet connection here is terrible with New Wave. On average I experience 10-15 minutes of downtime per day.

The speeds remind me of the Dual ISDN days. 80-130KB/s is the top end.

Avoid New Wave if you can. If it's your only option, live with it.

I live in Bay City Texas and New Wave came here and bought our cable company out. New Wave sucks . IT is out more than we have tv. There is a complete outage at least every 6 weeks and is out for 2 days, but we are still charged for it.
I reported New Wave to the BBB, they wouldn't do anything, said the info would be there for people to read, so New Wave has paid them off.
The channels up to 78 are different, and after channel 78 the channels are the same, they are ripping everyone off.

New Wave is bleeding everyone dry. They have the poorest service in South Texas.

In South Texas we are paying $75.00 for New Wave.
