The State police are doing ballistics tests to see if the bullet that hit the house this weekend came from Blue Trail, but they don't detail how they're doing that.
I can't wait for the day when they catch that idiot DiNatale in the act and arrest him. I have a friend that lives in that neighborhood and he confirmed that this guy is a real ass. He's been under investigation more than once. |

1 Secondly, there is an independent, professional investigation being undertaken by the State Police. Let the results come back before anyone starts yelling about a conspiracy. If this was your house, you would expect the same. Lastly, many houses have been hit for some time. This isn't a one time or new occurrence. So whoever is posting that is way off base. Oh yeah, I am not an anti-gun individual by any means, just a person who thinks gun safety is paramount. |

1 Calling this liar a stand up guy is laughable. He has been up to shady business in the past and is amking it his mission to SHUT DOWN the range, not make it safer. He wants it GONE and has been quoted saying as much in the news. The bottom line is, he has a bunch of land and nobody's going to pay 750K for his intended mcmansions if theres a rifle range at the bottom of their hill. The range is in his way, period. Your "stand up guy" is going as far as to present bullets that havent even been FIRED and saying that they are landing on his property. HE is the one who should be ashamed. |

I can't for a minute believe the gun club people wouldn't be extra vigilant right now. They know the heat is on. I think it's really fishy too.
Some of you posters said that a bullet could not travel a mile, though. I don't pretend to know for sure, but I would think a bullet could easily carry that far. |

Yes, a bullet can cary that far, particularly a higer caliber bullet. But, considering the numerous private ranges in the area, the other gun club in the area, and the countless illegal shooters that are up there, shooting their guns on that mountain daily (go listen for yourself at about 6 a.m. when the range is closed, and count the number of shots you hear fired, especially during hunting season)there is absolutely no reason to just assume that it is coming from Blue Trail. There is definitely way more to this story than meets the eye... thanks to the media... |

1 First off, DiNatale doesn't want it shut down, he wants it safe. He has said time and time again that he is a sportsman and has used the range and only wants it safe and DOES NOT want it shut down. Secondly, what shady business are you referring to? It is easy to make allegations, but yet again you do not back them up. Lastly, there are no intended McMansions for that area. That is a private residence, not a proposed site for new homes...this shows that you have no clue what you are even talking about. I seriously wonder if you are even from town because you talk so cluelessly on the matter. And just for your information, as a resident of Durham for many, many years, I can tell you that Pat DiNatale is respected by all and has been very giving to many organaiztions in town. |

1 "DiNatale said he'll continue his quest until the range is closed." Quoted from the Courant 5/22/08 http://www.courant.com/community/news/mr/hc-b... Obviously you're the clueless one. |

1 I just spoke to Mr. DiNatale he said he would be happy to meet and speak with you why don't you meet with him or are you content to hide as you are and tell lies or maybe you are araid to show himwho you are? |
|
Oh really??? Do you really know this guy or ARE YOU this guy? If he's such a neighborly guy, then why did he get in a pissing match with his neighbors and have to go to court over it? Also, why don't you research his involvement in Durham's Economic Development Commission and tell me again how he doesn't want to close down the range? |

1 That would be super! Tell Mr. DiNatale to meet us at the end of the 100 yard rifle range at Blue Trail around 10am tomorrow. Just have a seat on the dirt pile and hold up a white piece of paper with a circle drawn on it. |

1 Ashamed of yourself? Making false accusations? What about the accusations that Mr. DiNatale has made? This is the guy who, when interviewed on TV, held up a WWII artillery round and implied with a straight face that someone fired it at his house from the Blue Trail Range. |

1 Mr. DiNatale said he would be happy to meet with you and discuss/clarify any issues you might have with him. He is not afraid to use his real name. Mr. Citizen it is time for you to put up or shut up. |
|
In an interview on television one homeowner even claimed his birdfeeder was shot. Find the adult or juvenile with the gun. It will be interesting to see what caliber that bullet was. Everyone is quick to blame the range but look at the scientific facts. Lazers measure straight lies. The Courant writer and DEP investigators need to read a book on shooting and bullet trajectory.. |
