The only thing standing in between us and becoming a "Little Albuquerque" is our police force and the immigration department. I'm glad this fella got away.

This case is quickly developing into a Hate Crime, with the addition of conspiracy, including more serious charges of kidnapping. Indications and intent of the perpetrators (criminals)also clearly points to "singling out" a Native American to "roll". Murder would have committed if the victim Thompson did not jump out of the moving truck to save himself from the grips of depraved minds.

I hope that for once, the D.A. goes for the throats on this one & fights for maximum sentencing---I am sick & tired of this area drawing the dregs of violent criminals because judges & the D.A.'s office have a huge rep for being SOFT ON CRIMINALS!

I agree with Common Sense. Our judicial system in San Juan County is inept to the point of disgusting. The DA has been taking plea deals since he took office, just like the former one. It is easier for them to take a plea and count it as a conviction. It doesnt matter, if they did take the case to trial, our district court judges would send them home with a slap. Too bad, we need a strong hand and we dont have it.

This is so terrible. And so glad Leroy got away, an innocent man helping his wife (ALL THE WAY FROM ARIZONA!) and gets almost murdered. These kids need to suffer the consequences and NEED to learn the lesson that this is not how people are supposed to be treated.

We have only heard one side of the story and should not pass judgment until the Garcia brothers are detained and given a chance to tell their side - who knows what actually took place.

Sounds to me like someone needs a geography lesson. Just because New Mexico is a boardering state or has a simular name, that doesn't mean we tolerate crime like they do in Mexico! This is America! If you commend these boys for what they did, then your living in the wrong country!!

Its so sad this is just another sign of the rolling of poor defenseless human beings. Another reminder of what the high school students did back in 1992 during my high school days. Sometimes I wonder how kid are brought up to have no respect for other human beings. Just another reminder of rascism. What are these people thinking when they are doing these acts? What if that was your father, uncle or brother. Its so sad that some kids were never instilled with values or morals. I hope they are caught and just say karma has a wierd way of working. "What comes around goes around".

that is so stupid. who cares about their side of the story as to why they took this man out to a place where no one can hear the man scream. And then attack him with a hatchet and choke this man? Garcia brothers need to be in prison. Where they cant hurt anyone else.

They sure had big ball to jump an innocent man in the middle of no where. But they sure as hell don't have them balls to turn themselves in and say i did it. What a couple of SPINELESS COWARDS!!! What about the person that owns the vehicle they were driving, why are they not turning these cowards in? They should be charged with aiding & evading or even being an accomplice. COWARDS is all I have to say.

Notice you are the ONLY to mention anything about race. Even the victim said it was for money, not race. Do us ALL a favor and just shut up already. Moron.
