So parents of dupo I am new to the district. How bad is this really? I would like honest answers please as this will be a factor in if I decide to send my daughter to kindergarten here. Thank you in advance for any information.
Bluffview is really OK, but I wouldn't send my kids to the high school. I've pulled my kids after 2 years at bluffview and send them to private school. Not that I don't like Bluffview, just would rather move them in 2nd grade than 7th.

I have a 16 year old that has gone to the Dupo schools since pre-school and never had any problems with bullies until the Freshman year. My kid is slapped in the head, my kids homework is taken and that is just the beginning. I went to the school and tried to tell them and I was told "Oh no that boy you are accusing is a very good kid we don't beleive that he would do this" The 2nd time my kid had a mark left on their body from another student and once again I was told "well they have been friends in the past so there is no need to woory" Well my child is now a Junior and if I hear one issue with bullies I will call someone higher and go to the school. Dupo does not care and these bullies that I speak of are not athletes they are kids from working class people that live pay check to pay check like most of us do. And yes I have taught my children to turn the other cheek and be the bigger person if possible.

<quoted text> Thank you but I was referring to the NAME ! It takes a GHETTO person to name there child that! I do NOT harass little kids .. Geez .. But if I named my daughter that I am sure you all would call me a ghetto mom then. Oh and my daughter dont deserve to be harassed by any kid no matter the name or if I believe that family is Ghetto.

Since it's only kindergarten then the bullying won't be too bad. It escalates every year so your kid won't get the serious beatdown until second or third grade.

It's a " 'I wanna use the blue crayon'...'NO, I WANNA USE THE BLUE CRAYON' " world out there.

Any bullying is too much. If this is a big time issue, which it seems it is, I may have to pass on dupo schools. Does anyone know of any decent private schools within a 25 mile radius? Thanks everyone

Are there any other private schools around here that are not religious based? I am currently checking into the Governor French Academy in Belleville but I am not sold. Any suggestions even if they are in St. Louis would be appreciated.
