My brother and I were Mr. Purcell's first newspaper delivery boys. The price was 10 cents per issue which was delivered twice weeekly in the early sixties. I had the northside of town, north of the tracks and my brother had the south side of town. We also delivered complimentary issues to houses at the same time in order to build up the delivery service. Helen Portsche was our boss and paid us on Saturday after we brought our collection money to the office.
