It was bait and switch on the price and nothing else. Funeral homes make a living making people feel bad if they don't spend all their money planting empty carcasses that used to be our loved ones. The spirit or soul isn't there. They depend on you being caught up in your grief and going into debt or paying more than you can afford. Just say no to extravagant funerals, you can't buy love and especially so with someone that has died.
Funeral homes and parlors are in it for the money just as they should be. We're not all capable of taking advantage of grieving families just like we're not all suited to be used car salesman or politicians. At times like those adults can have a funeral plan in advance and remove this burden from your families.
This was unique being a child. The child could not have thought of this, a family friend usually helps out. I would not use the Ewton's service because of the bait and switch thing. It is common for funeral homes to practice but this time it was too much and really took some predatory practices to pull off.
I've seen a veteran's American flag trampled, a casket dropped and a rotted body presented for open casket. Three different local services, all sucked and all preventable. Maybe Valley business has grown apathetic and 'know' you won't go out of the valley for service.
