Does anyone know what they are doing to the field in front of Griffith where the football teams practice? At first it looked like they might be making a base ball diamond but now I am not so sure!!

They're designing a whole new field that is safer for the players. The community is working together and donating their time, equipment, energy, money, sweat, resources, irrigation, seed, dirt, etc., to get our boys a better field. There have been three hurt because of holes in the field. The field also floods, so they have raised it up to resolve that issue as well. I am so proud of the people who are working together for a good cause. I love to see us all working together. I love this town and the people in it. They are planting Bermuda grass and it should be gorgeous. The Middle School and Little League are working together on this. Irrigation will be put in, as far as I know. Isn't that wonderful?

the little league is helping to do the field. Coach mason was asked if it was ok to do this, too. Maybe you should get out of the house once in a while and see what is REALLY going on.

our athletes pass and make good grades because they are taught discipline and leadership. We can't help it because you or your child can't walk and chew chewing gum at the same time.

Wonder,

You make some great points about education, Church, and the number of student athletes to go to colleges or even turn pro; they are all great points. Please if you will answer this for me if not for sports how many of our student-athletes would not even graduate high school due to the strict eligibility requirments. Just a question that should be answered. I am not knocking your commitment to education I appluad it, but you are barking up the wrong tree. If you want to see a serious change, you need to focus your efforts on the parents of Dunlap. This is where you can have a profound impact, hold the parents responsible for the product (students) that they are sending to the schools. Is it wrong to expect parents to teach their child the basics of education before they start school? Again you make some very solid points, I just want everyone to realize that they are responsible for preparing their children for school.

We all know most of the kids that play ball get a pass. Another dummy with a diploma. Schools are there to teach academics not waste money on sports.

your right sports can be a good thing in any childs life as long as it can be balanced out with education, church and sports its just the fact that some parents and coaches wanna scream, yell. cuss, around the kids that i have a problem with its a form of abuse to stand and yell at a kid telling them if they wanna be part of a champion team your gonna do what i say what kid likes being screamed at by a 300 pound man? its great that alot of good thing are being done for the kids ,, but is it really for the kids ? or is it for somone trying to prove apoint that they can make a winning ballteam ?

Its for the 300 pound man because he was to fat to play when he was a kid. Fat people shouldnt be allowed to coach anything except eating and how to f*ck with a little pecker.

There is no ball practice on Wednesday night. Just thought you'd like to know. I know of at least one coach that takes any of his players that want to go to church on Wednesday nights.

IT'S TRULY FOR THE KIDS. PEOPLE DON'T WORK FOR FREE TO MAKE A POINT. IT COMES FROM A HEART THAT IS GENEROUS AND FULL OF LOVE. THOSE COACHES KNOW THAT OUR KIDS ARE OUR FUTURE, AND THEY SEE SOMETHING IN OUR BOYS THAT ENCOURAGES THEM AND MAKES THEM FEEL LOVED AND IMPORTANT. I'M THANKFUL FOR SPORTS. IT KEEPS THEIR GRADES UP AND MOTIVATES THEM TO BE BETTER PEOPLE IN ALL ASPECTS OF LIFE. MY FRIEND SAID HER BOY HAS BECOME A DIFFERENT BOY BECAUSE OF FOOTBALL. HE IS MORE RESPECTFUL AND TAKE THE INITIATIVE TO CLEAN UP AND HELP OUT AT HOME. SHE SAID HE WANTS TO STUDY HARDER BECAUSE HE DOESN'T WANT HIS GRADES TO FALL. HE SAID THE COACH ENCOURAGES THEM TO BE STAR STUDENTS IN SCHOOL TO REPRESENT THE TEAM WELL.
WHEN KIDS GET BORED, THEY GET IN TROUBLE. I'M GLAD THAT THEY HAVE SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO AND MOTIVATE THEM. IT PROMOTES GREAT CHARACTER AND WHEN THEY COME ON THAT FIELD THEY KNOW THAT THEY ARE LOVED, RESPECTED AND APPRECIATED. BE THANKFUL FOR SPORTS. WITHOUT SPORTS, YOU MAY HAVE A TOWN FULL OF KIDS GETTING INTO THINGS THEY SHOULDN'T AND CAUSING ALL KINDS OF TROUBLE.
To the coaches

Become comfortable with criticism. No matter who you are, you cannot please everyone all of the time. If you’re going to reach the heights God has called you to, you will elicit criticism from those who are jealous, petty or angry because they were left behind.~~a recent high school graduate.

Maybe your kids can take you to the adult education program and you can learn how to spell YOU and learn that it's not wen-day.
