NO! Underpaid public servants don't amass $1M in credit card debts over a 4-year span. How ridiculous to tarnish hard-working, honest employees with a comparison to this terrible thief. Start selling off her assets to recoup the losses.

I know why she did it
"Officials summoned Geyman back from an out-of-town conference to explain, and she confessed to taking the money, the district's attorney said last month. She had been the school district's treasurer since 20003."<- SHE'S FROM THE FUTURE!!!!! She must know something we don't

How could a school district with 1600 students not notice a loss of one million dollars, and would not have noticed it without the audit? That's alot of money to go missing with such a small school district.

The taxpayers of that town can rest easy, knowing the district is carefully watching their hard-earned money.

How the h*** does someone steal 1M $$$$ from a school district of only 1600 students and no one notices for almost four years????????? The entire school board and the entire district staff should be fired for total incompetence!!

She has stated that her husband has a gambling "problem" and she has a spending "problem". It wasn't that she was underpaid. SHe actually got a pretty decent salary for working for a rural school corporation.

The Madison Regatta just paid back loans that were taken out while this woman was in charge of their finances, so I hope they are looking closely at the books for those years. The Regatta was able to make money the last two years without a title sponsor. They lost money in the preceding years when Belterra was the sponsor. Coincidence?

I wonder if she also stole from the car dealership, the hydroplane races, and the other groups that she was involved with...I hope that they are all auditing their books.

Whoever did this investigation should come to Indy and look at Perry Twp and IPS.....it would probably make this look like child's play.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Taurus

Keep calm! Your emotions are becoming increasingly heightened and intense today. As a result, you're likely to take things much more seriously than usual. That's wonderful if you're involved in a hot and heavy encounter with Mr or Ms Right, but it won't be such good news if you go overboard about silly trifles. If you're doing some last-minute shopping you'll want to be as extravagant as your budget allows. Or is it a case of Budget...? What budget?
