Does anyone know what happened to Barton Superintendant???? Why would he be fired so quickly? He was in Foorest City for a LONG time.

Yes, he was set up--it did involve Ms. Cox. A few of the people involved in the school didn't like the way he was doing things. He has an amazing record of over-hauling schools and bringing them up to speed with the rest of the top schools in the state. A few of the top people didn't want him 'changing' the school for the better. It's a real shame. He is such a smart man! He's so close to retirement age, he may not even try to become a superintendent again. Again, what a shame.

How could he be "known" to overhaul schools and bring them up to speed with other top schools in the state when he had been at Forrest City a LONG time and that district had a grade of F on the state report card.

Yes he was not much of a superintendant. I know first hand. You could hardly ever catch him in the office to complain about anythig at the school.

Lee Vent had the same problem in FC. He demoted then promoted a woman. When that affair wound down he began having health problems, perhaps seizures. He never did anything to overhaul the FCSD. Surprisingly the woman in question in FC stills maintains her position. It is not likely he was "set up". The patrons of the Barton/Lexa School District simply saw him for what he was.

I can tell you so much about Lee Vent, I don't know where to begin. When I worked there, he was wining and dining his secretary on school expense, fixed her car at the school transportation garage, and mowed her grass with school lawnmowers, and I even heard recordings of him talking to his secretary telling her how much he loved her. She was married to a coach there that let me hear the recordings. I actually caught him with his hands in the cookie jar, and when I blew the whistle, I got fired.

Yes! The same crap he did at Forrect City! He got by with more questionable and unethical issues that everyone seemed to cover. IT'S CALLED SECURITY IN A SMALL PODUNK TOWN LIKE FORREST CITY. He just couldn't fool the folks at Barton! |
