He was NOT an illegal alien. Both were hispanic AMERICANS and the truck was not stolen..

For those of you who purport to know the people involved, can anyone tell me why a 14-year-old, who had been a passenger in the SUV, pulled a gun on the Good Samaritan who stopped to help?

How horrible! She was so young and with a new baby. I am so glad the baby was not with them.

Why would that child, the 14 year old try to hijack a car? I do not understand. Why wasn't he doing everything he could to get help for her?

Jackie sounds like she was a lovely person. With so much ahead in her future.

Too bad she got mixed up with Mr. Baesa. He seems a very violent type with previous convictions for family violence and drug offenses. Does anyone ever wonder how really sweet girls get taken in? I do, as I an older woman. Just yesterday someone was talking about being abused. How confused they were, because he kept saying how sorry he was. It was then I wondered why schools don't have classes that help people see when they have met a controler and perhaps a person prone to violence... like this man who they think is fleeing. Sorry for the rambling it just breaks my heart to hear of another young lady, and with a baby and so much of a bright future ahead losing her life.

jackie was a close friend of my family, and she grew up with my brother... she didnt deserve what happened to her and i hate that they left her there by herself! she had alot going for her she was a awsome soccer player and person! and her lil boy is ony five weeks old and now he will never ever get to meet his mother, i still cant believe it, i keep thinking i will see her on monday night, thats when we would of played soccer together... but now she is in heaven playing... r.i.p jackie and sweetdreams you will be missed and NEVER 4gottn!

alee, I am so very sorry that you have lost your friend! It is never easy, and like you said for him to have left her there and driven off is unbelievable. I sure hope if anyone has a lead on him they will tell the police. Guess the other one too. People should never treat each other that way. Perhaps since your families are so close you will be part of the little boys family and share stories about his mom with him. I hope your journey in life, Alee, is an easier path and that you chose wisely when it comes to the boys/men in your life and the people you chose to have in your precious life. What is so sad, is that she did not have to die. I can not help but wonder what was going on in that car when it crashed... it had to be something for him to drive away like that and leave her with her broken body alone .. suffering. Chose carefully Alee, please. Take care honey. I figure he had money if he was running drugs, like the article said. Never let that attract you. You can study and make your life independently with an education. Then if you do make a mistake, and lets face it, we all do. You will have your education to fall back on and it will allow you a life without compromise. You will be able to walk away from anyone that begins to control and not appreciate you. I hate that anyone had to die but I'm Thankful that no innocent people in their speeding path had to die due to his ignorance. I feel for Jackie's baby and family and what goes around comes around so maybe wherever he is his turn will come.

My daughters precious friend! The baby shower invitations were made at my house. I was disappointed in Jackie for even having a baby. But we all make mistakes. We have all been there in our lives. The newspaper can lie and assume the truth, but noone knows the truth except the people that were there. I am sorry that Stephen will have to see this over and over in his mind. It was a terrible accident that he will have to live with for the rest of his life. may God bless Elijah, he will have lots and lots of love. I will miss seeing jackie with the soccer ball. She was sight to see. Only if you have seen her play, will you know how she will be sorely missed in the soccer community!

Jackie was a good friend of mines, and i miss so much! we would always party together before she was pregnant. i grew up with steven and know he is a good person! when jackie was pregnant, her baby daddy didnt want to take his role as a father and left her by her self! steven took care of her and didnt care she was having a baby with another man. he loved her alot and treated jackies baby as if it was his! you have to understand if you see your loved one departed. you are going to freak out and get scared. so i suggest you people dont judge a book by its cover! and just so you know! he turn himself in on her funeral! and just because the press hears a latino last name doesnt necessary mean they are headed to MEXICO!!..lol shows how raciest the media is and how ignorant they really are!! Sorry for your loss.

I've known dozens of people who've lost loved ones in traffic accidents and none of them "freaked out" and ran from the scene -- with the exception of one who had been drinking and using. He needed time to get the "stuff" out of his system before he talked to the police. Perhaps that scenario fits your friend's case?

and finally, it's not racist to suspect a fugitive is headed to Mexico. Fugitives from the US have been fleeing to Mexico for 2 hundred years. It IS racist, however, to assume that anyone withOUT a Latino name is anti-Mexican.
