I want to know why no one in Mound Bayou is talking about the book written by Daniel Asamota about their fair town. It is a good book that has met with modest success yet it hasn't been profiled by any news agency in or around Mound Bayou! One would think that those who actually live in this wonderful town would be first ones out trying to buy their copy! I mean, it's about you!Arene't you interested in your own tribut book?

The reason that proud Mississippians are not flocking to the book stores is simple. We lived the era and don't need a book to tell us about the real struggle. There are countless small towns in Mississippi just like Mound Bayou that could easily be developed into an academy award winning movie. We're just proud to have survived and times have gotten somewhat better.

Proud???

I came through your town recently and it's pathetic! You all should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing this town to become what it is now. It's a disgrace to the ex-slaves who built this town from nothing... we're talking about ex-slaves who had everything against them.

It's pathetic!

You need to read up on the Black Farmer's Settlement..... a lot had to do with the withholding of funds by FHA. How can you continue to thrive as a business, when you are denied funds to function as Black Farmers, and etc.....Use your head and look at the facts

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Cancer

If you thought yesterday was fraught with tension the temperature rises a few notches again today, as Mars turns retro in your house of finances and values. What's eating you? Maybe you're annoyed because your spare time is being eroded by duties that are weighing heavily on your shoulders. You might also be miffed by the flippant attitude of a certain person who you think should be taking life a lot more seriously. Calm down or you'll blow a gasket.
