I think it's horrible and inexcusable, Joe! They should have never been left alone especially the gentleman who depended completely on somebody else's care.

They were doing the best they could to maintain independence and a semblence of dignity despite their health issues. Since you didn't know them or the circumstances, be grateful for your own good health and pray you never have to rely on outside assistance to keep going.

Very sad...my heart goes out to their families. Its had to be hard for both of them, dealing with health issues and basically relying on one another, to maintain some feeling of independance. Even though he was a quad, Im sure she relied on him for his love and companionship.

This story is so sad that two people lost their lives. As for diabetes, if a person goes into a diabetic coma unless they get care pronto they can lose their lives. I went through two diabetic comas with my husband. Diabetes even messes with all of your organs. I am so sorry for the family of these two people.

I am soooo angry at all who are making these horrible judgement calls. you have NO idea who they were!
Dawn and Floyd lived in a lovely little immaculate MI home. Dawn kept it spotless.
They were normal people. Adult protective services? just b/c you are injured you are not "normal" you morons saying horrific things are not normal.
Dawn and Floyd have a wonderful caring family. God help you all if anything bad ever happens to you.
I am a professional licensed clinician that had been in their home countless times over the years. You have to find a new normal to keep going.
Floyd, i love you and will miss you.

& thank you to everyone who wrote nice stuf . but my aunt & uncle did not have ''major'' health issues . She had diabetes & he was a quad . ; They were not 80 years old , she was independent & she could take care of herself & healthy besides the diabetes . so before you say something get the story straight .
