More H1N1 Walk In Clinics Coming To The Tulsa Area

What if you fly? Can you still go to a walk-in clinic? And can I bring my cat? I saw on the news where a cat got H1N1...

So...I sit waiting patiently as a person not in the categories that the government has so far listed to be eligible to receive the vaccine. Anyone have any idea when we will be able to receive it? I just cross my fingers and hope that no one I work with, etc., gets it and passes it on to me and others before we are offered the vaccine, too.

It's as safe as the yearly flu shot, unless you don't receive that either. Considering almost 4 thousand deaths have occured, mainly in young.... I think I will protect my child.

My son recieved the nasal vaccine and had an allergic reaction. He ran 105 tempature for two days and the hospital said there was nothing they could do. He never tested positive for the flu. Finally the third day I took him to an urgent care in Coweta Oklahoma and they gave him a steroid shot and an antihistamine shot. Wow, no more temp and feeling great! Why couldn't the hospital do that?

I went through the H1N1, honestly? It's bad. You will want to die. By the third day, your temp is over 103*F.

The only thing I found to help decrease the temperature was ice packs on the back of the neck and Theraflu Warming sensations for Flu and Sore Throat.

The flu shot is not safe. My dad is in the hospital right now fighting for his life because he got a flu shot. He got Gillian Barre Syndrome. 1 of every 100,000 people that get the flu shot get this syndrome. The effects of it are far worse than the flu.
I will never get a flu shot again.

GBS may be a rare side-effect of influenza vaccines, with an incidence of about one case per million vaccinations.[10] There were indeed reports of GBS affecting about 500 people who had received swine flu immunizations in the 1976 U.S. outbreak of swine flu — 25 of which resulted in death from severe pulmonary complications, leading the government to end that immunization campaign[11]. However, the role of the vaccine in these cases has remained unclear, partly because GBS had an unknown but very low incidence rate in the general population making it difficult to assess whether the vaccine was really increasing the risk for GBS. Later research have concluded to the absence of or to very small increase in the GBS risk due to the 1976 swine flu vaccine[12]. Further, the GBS may not have been directly due to the vaccine but to a bacterial contamination of the vaccine.[13]

Since 1976, other influenza vaccines have not been linked to GBS, though as a precautionary principle caution is advised for certain individuals, particularly those with a history of GBS.[14][15]

A rare case of Guillain-Barre syndrome within hours after receiving the H1N1 vaccine for swine flu was first reported early November 2009.[16]
