As we generate ideas about what direction the Bonner Mill will move in next, I think we should take a hard look at what should be preserved from what has always been on that location. Change doesn't always mean to run in the opposite direction. Seams to me the best approach is to seek out a plan that actually preserves this very cherishable mill community. Strip malls and chain stores aren't the answer.
A TEXTILE RECYCLING PLANT could have the potential to maintain this atmosphere of a mill town community that is ready to stand up and face the future with sustaining business trends and practices. Not only would this create a vast amount of jobs and wealth in the community, but the potential to put us on the international level of commerce production, i.e. creating a line of industrial thread- factory rags (which are already a booming business). Not to mention the vast amount of design creativity that resides here to pump up a huge clothing and furniture reprocessing sector.
Bonner don't give in to the strip mall development- Let a stitch in time save us all!!!!
Just throwing out a line, perhaps the 'fly' looks tastey to you...
