Do you think the sheriff will run again ?

I was wondering if you thing the sheriff will run again ? Also do you think he should or shouldn't ?

I sure hope not! He is too rub nose with his certain click. Look at some of his Deputy's.... that says it all.

He will run again, but i sure hope this county don't re elect him. Too hard nosed and bull headed. The man that takes that office needs to be able to admit a mistake when he makes it. So far i haven't seen that in him. He is tough on crime sure enough, but doesnt have the capability to apologize..I have known many people like that.. Sheriff Odie is one of them. They never really are happy with themselves, and can't be happy with anyone else.

I wish we would have elected Ken Kuidara! Sorry I can't spell his last name. I think he would have been good

Never replied before, I hope this goes through because if I had a hundred votes, they would all go for our sheriff. God bless him and I hope he wins again if he wants the time!

I hope he runs and I hope he wins! He's a fine guy and I think some of these folks complaining on here have just heard things about him. I can tell you from personal experience he is a very compassionate and caring man. Now that don't mean if you come at him with an attitude, he's not going to give it back to you in spades! But you treat him right and he'll do the same. Four more years with Sherriff Odie!

I hope he runs again. I think he has done a fine job. Some of the deputys not the best in the world but what can you say, you get what you pay for.

I would like to see the sheriff run again. Best sheriff White County has had since William Hickey....and that goes back a few years

I hope not, haven't found a sheriff yet to rid the drug problem from our neighborhood...

Just wondering you live in the county or city. Because if its the city dont complian to the sheriff, go to chief guth about that. if its n the county speak up and tell him he cant read minds dont sit back and complian if your not helping them by lettin gthem know whats going on.

Would I be dumb enought to live in the city and complain about the sheriff.... um let's see, NO! That's ignorant. I live in the county, and YES, I have made many people, in the law enforcement community, aware of the problem, INCLUDING the sheriff, personally! So they know what is going on, they have known for the last 7 years I've lived there, so it started before he was elected, but it's county tradition I guess. It's all in who you know.. 22 cars, smoetimes more, sometimes less, a hour in and out of a driveway at all hours, Paying the bills with NO job, burning the most horrible smelling crap you have ever smelled, needles everywhere, empty iodine bottles on the sides of the road....etc. etc. Get the picture!

Some how it is hard for me to believe you have told anyone about this and it is still going on. If you have told law enforcement you need to keep telling them until someone listens.

He is horrible to his employees and not much better to the general public, I would know because I used to work there and i feel sorry for this county if he stays in office.

They are right, Sheriffs Shoupe is horrible, especially to his employees, that's why all the deputies that work there look like there 12, nobody with experience will work for that maniac.

I respect your judgement of our Sheriff but it is difficult for me to believe that he is horrible to his employees and the public. I agree we do have some young looking deputies, but on the other hand, the older seasoned deputies may have been set in their ways....and from what I hear it's the Sheriff's way or the highway. Isn't that what we elected him to do! As far as the public goes I have heard one complaint on the Sheriff because a father didn't get his way..the Sheriff wouldn't budge on giving his son a break. I for one like the new way here in White County...it's not the good old boys club anymore. He treats us all the same.....by the book!

Seems to me that it is alright for you to rant and rave about how things are not being done to suit you but some one else can't post a simple statement without you going off. I am sorry for what ever has happened in your life to make you so hateful but life isn't always a bed of roses.

for anyone complaining about white county justice center personel.
the sheriff and maj. baker run the facility. i am not a county employee. both of these men are tough and fair. they give respect and expect it in return. they run an efficient productive jail on a budget that is pathetic. all the officers in the jail do the best job possible with what they have to work with. they are paid less than a mcdonalds employee with NO health ins. the community should admire and thank these people

No. They make more than McDonald's employees. They are now offered insurance. The budget has more in it for the jail but it is used for other "more important" things like uniforms and big guns. There are some good officers that work at the jail. That has nothing to do with the Sheriff running again, does it? The Sheriff has made a lot of changes for White County. The people will decide if there were enough changes. You have to take the whole term since he came into office to be able to judge good enough to come back or too bad to stay. There are only a couple original officers that are still on the road that were there before his administration took over. Why would there be such a turnover? Are the last one's hired qualified? The judgment in hiring the last one might be questioned. Why would he hire someone he has fired twice?
