Riot at Warren High School After School 1/31/06

Did anyone see the big fight that happened after school on the corner of Stewart and Grey and Paramount Blvd.? It was the Blacks vs. Mexicans. A student was struck in her abdomen which, broke her water. It was said, it took 10 min. for school officials to respond and about that much time for Downey Police to arrive.

i grew up in Downey all i can say is it went to Shit in the last 15 years its a shame i Grad from warren now i look at it with a sad feeling good luck to all ya stuck in downey in the year 2006

Downey is a bad as you make it out to be.

I beliver if mexicans don't stop this (B.S.), then need to tell black people to arm themselves to the teeth... I been to Downey last year, I couldn't even get my order of fries and bugers 'cause I was black.

The fight was not about blacks and mexicans, the fight was among silly boys wanting to proof who's better...the truth is in the U.S. blacks and mexicans(all hispanics) will always be viewed as the lower class so, instead of fighting each other we should come together. If we want to improve our status, we should focus in educating ourselves to better improve our lives. Now, about Warren High School, the school is still one of the better schools in the area, academically the school performed better than most school in the area including Downey High School, the only school that performed better was Cerritos High School. What is affecting the schools is all the students who attend with permits. Downey over all is still a nice place to live in, rich in history, and a very centralize place. Sure, it has it not so great areas, name a city that doesn't...Let's take O.C. Anaheim, Santa Ana, Westminister, Cypess, Huntington Beach, Seal Beach all those cities have there not so great areas as well...I agree Downey P.D. should tightning the belt with the trouble makers, and Warren should control the number of permits it hands out...

Cant we all just get along..the problem with our minority society is that we are victims of or parents not having education, and us not trying to get the education that the schools try to provide for us.When we get home the first thing we want to do is beat a video game, not learn how to create one. I admit my are not offered the best at all time, thats when you should exceed your expectations of yourself and others. we are all satisfied with just a passing grade, scared to be #1 becase then we become nerds. Look at yourself first then create a path for you and others.Look at Tiger, do you know as a child what he had to overcome to be where he is, and he was only a child.

Downey's catching up with the rest of the area. The PD held the line for a long time, but just are getting overwhelmed with people from South Gate and Norwalk attacking from both sides. Downey's caught in the middle. Regarding the girl who's water broke. Pregnant at what age? And WHY in the world was she there? Unless you're standing next to the combatants when the fight starts, there's time to get away. You can feel the undercurrent of violence swelling up. Probably had to watch or egg it on. Then says, "Oh, I'm PREGNANT..." I wish I had a dollar for evertime I heard someone do something really stupid and try to get out of their punishment by saying, " But I'm PREGNANT..." When I was young, two fighters would duke it out and the rest would stand around watching or encouraging. NOW everybody wants in on the act, then they use the race card afterwards to justify their actions. Flippin' teens...
Don't get me wrong, there are some DAMN fine teens that want an education. I have no use for the rest that have no redeeming social value.

downey use to be nice and kept up until you got retarded idiots comming into our town... its not because your black , asian, white, green..I mean come on...its just pure stupidity ..attention seekers is what you call it.....

What happened to Downey? I grew up there, in the "Treasure Island" area. I loved it there.. I went to Warren a couple of years before I moved. When I came back to visit it, it looked like things had gotten worse.. why? I am hispanic too, but I never had gotten into all this racist stuff.. in fact, i had never experianced racism until I moved to Europe. Ahh Downey.. I miss you....

Seriously, Cerritos High, Whitney High, and Gahr High completely obliterate the competition for other schools, which are full of procine also-rans that can not handle our grandiloquent ways. Owned? ;)
