Taggers are getting out of control and cost taxpayers tons of $'s weekly!! Lock him up and throw away the key. He will prob. just get worse and frankly if it were my kid that is exactly what I would want them to do. And yes I think the parents should be financially responsible to pay for the damages and if they can't when this kid and others get jobs they garnish their wages until their debts are paid!!

def hold parents responsible...kid needs to also work cleaning up streets, graffiti, picking up trah etc. Many hours of community service if parentscan't pay fine!

When he's out tagging, where are his parents? Who's in charge? How are THEY going to pay for these damages? Maybe THEY should be incarcerated at the same time while the authroities decide on what to do with ALL of them! Enough is enough! Idle threats to punish just don't work! Let's get a handle on these problems by PUNISHING THE KIDS FOR THEIR ACTIONS, BUT INCLUDE THE GUARDIANS ALONG WITH THEIR KIDS! We are all paying for this problem and we shouldn't have to if parents/guardians would be held responsible for their kids!

I cant believe how there is so much ignorance in the comments made by read this, whittier whittier and nico .. do u all realize how u uneducated u must sound, first of all we dont know what nationality this kid is and you all seem to be on a whole different subject called prejudice.... who cares what nationality he may be the point here is here is this 13 yr old out doing whatever he seems to want to do and mom and dad for all u know dont care because they also may have the same type of background as he ,, u know the saying , THE APPLE DOESNT FALL FAR FROM THE TREE...if this little punk has the energy to do these damages then he and his parents need to be put to work and make them clean it or paint it . buttttttttt again this kid wil probobly get a slap on the hand and the parents will be in denial of what kind of kid they have and he will be doing the same as he has done before ,, damaging others property ,,, I have 2 kids and always scared the heck out of them by threatening them to turn them in myself if I knew they did anything wrong, thank god it worked

well this is a teeenager out of control with parents not taking care of this matter and set the child straight .make them fit the bill...WPD while you are out arresting teenage taggers focus on some identity thefts ,white-collar crimes,corruption and city embezzlement ...lets see them gather a special team in that area of crime ....

and to think the whittier city council just approved A permit to a "Medical Marijuana" Dispensary in Whittier...Come on people...Nordbak Newcomer and Henderson gave the "Yea"... I think it is so sad that these kids ( AND ADULTS ) can only write on walls, and not on paper!

How about doing a little "tagging" on this kid's skin? Make him go through the next year of his life with the word "STUPID" in big letters on his forehead.(Permanent ink marker, not tattoo.)

Then dress him up in a pink ballerina outfit, and make him do community service picking up litter. Take pictures of him in his pink tutu picking up trash and publish them in his school newspaper for all his peers to see.

It's hard to say how much at fault the parents are - maybe a little, maybe a lot. But we know for sure that the kid is at fault, and he should be punished for it in a way that he will find both very unpleasant and memorable.

10 counts of felony this boy is not going to get a slap on the wrist. So hopefully now he will learned his lesson, and people should stop blaming the parenets. Myself as a parent would hope that my kids listen to the advise that both my wife and i give them but ,we all know that sometimes they go there own way's. We dont know what type of family this kid comes from all we know that he tag's for all we know he probably lives in friendly hill's and his family is well off.

The parents must be proud..

I agree with this....This so called kids are hiding behind the fact that they are minors and protected!!! 1st offense-horrible 2nd offense-intolerable!!! We need to follow the lead from the Jailer in Arizona...prisoners where stripes...eat peanut butter sandwichs, work in the hot sun....because if they dont like it...."THEN DONT COME BACK"....Arizona is seeing results!!!! We need to display these taggers in someway that we all know why they are cleaning the walls of local establishments....We need a tagger outfit when they are doing their time serving community service!!!! CALL THESE KIDS OUT!!! SHOW THEM AND ALL HOW DISGRACEFUL THEY ARE TO THEIR FAMILY, THEIR CITY AND THEIR RACE!!! NO MATTER WHAT THEY ARE!!!

Good idea, although the tutu is a good one too. Embarassement is a profound tactic because image is everything to a teenager. yes, a criminal record is unfortunately cool for these undeveloped teenage brains.

You talkin bout Crazy Joe Arpaio? Hes currently under federal investigation for corruption and recently had his power to arrest illegal aliens stripped from him by the feds because of abuse and profiling (how would you like to have been in this country for generations, but you have dark skin and a cop demands you prove your citizenship?)
