"Stinky" passed away a few years ago at the ripe old age of 45, and that's normal years, not hyenna years. There are NO hyennas at the Tributary. He also had elk, which have passed away; Lions, which were sent to an exotic animal farm in North Georgia; wolves, which were given away or passed away; and numerous other exotic pets over the years. There are NO absolutely no more animals on the property. Just wanted to help with the true facts and not false information. As me how I know? I live there. <quoted text> You seem to be fairly close to this situation a hold some knowledge of the facts. I found this article on the cap chur dart system. Maybe you could tell us if it's accurate or not to your knowledge. I did find it an interesting read. Red seemed to be interesting conservationist

Mr. Taylor was Red's business partner for years. Red sold his part of the business to Taylor a few years ago. Red's family is no longer part of the business. Red passed away about 6 years ago. Honestly, I don't have a clue what Taylor is doing these days. tick wrote: BTS,I seriously was under the impression Mr. Taylor that lives on Tidwell invented this tranqualizer. He has a building{office} that they are always working on different things.I have a friend that lives right behind his house he has goasts, bulls, all sorts of animals.Just wondering so all you know it alls don't jump my bones it's a question.

Great article. Looks accurate to me. The nicotine chemical part is definitely true. He had drums of it still tucked away when he passed away. Good grief, it looked like the FBI was removing terrorists or something when they came to dispose of that chemical properly. Apparently that stuff is really, really toxic. I always wonder what the FBI "really" did with that stuff. Yep, the "DuPont" thing is definitely accurate. If the word DuPont was mentioned, Red would go into a very detailed, interesting, fascinating story about how he and Mr. DuPont were buddies. He was an amazing man, for sure. I'm an in-law, so didn't get to know him as much as most, but I had great respect for him. I did some third party shipping for Palmer Equipment over the years and knew several other people that worked for him. Went to his place a couple of times and it was wild. Every year he sent me a Christmas card with a photo of himself standing in front of several Rolls Royce vehicles. He was a character and the original inventor of the tranqualizer gun. I used to see him around town and people who didnt know him would never guess that he was a very rich man.

We have a place on a river in lower Alabama(well sorta. Just hd it torn down and working with architect on rebuild). We get the water and a green view. Lived on the beach several times in my life it just get so damn hot in the summer. Been looking for years for a place in the mountains( put on hold now because of rebuild). The place is also less than a hour to the FLa Coast. Good luck with your search. Tough choice

Oh... I suppose you are the expert on Douglas developments, seeing as you are living in that lovely Norcross area. Really, don't knock it unless you've lived there. Tributary has a long way to go but the people there really care about it. The civic affairs meetings get really great turnouts and the social events in the community are well attended and happen most every week. Tributary has a social fabric unlike any that I have ever seen. Living in Tributary has changed my life for the better and I think most of the people living here would agree. whats right is right wrote: Dont go to this place. All major housing developements in Douglas are a nightmare. Look at the Annewakee Trails and Falls they are the oldest. Now look at Mirror lake heading downhill. Hate to inform you but the pretty little Tributary is next. I promise.

First of all the mortgage on a 300,000 plus home would be way over the 1200.00 per month allowed by Section 8 and I doubt they would be able to pay the difference. Second of all, Section 8 is governed by the Atlanta Housing Association and they perform back ground checks on everyone on the lease. If you are a convicted felon or if you have an arrest history, you will not obtain a voucher. In order to be on Section 8 everyone 18 and older has to have a job or be a full time student. They are tearing down all the public housing, in the city of Atlanta, so no neighborhood would be exempt from renting to people with vouchers. Get over it!!!!!!

What people need to know is the housing market has tanked and the builders are lease purchasing any and every house they have. They are losing them at a high rate and this keeps them from going into foreclosure. If i pay $400,000 for a home the last thing I want is for someone to move next door that other wise could not afford that house ( they are baiscly paying the builders interest payment) and It is not fair that I am going to lose value on my house due to my neighborhood becoming a rental neighborhood. Also, it is a fact that the houses being turned section 8 are being some of the nicer homes, the city of Atlanta is picking up any amount that the hud and the renter can not pay. This way Atlanta is being re-vamped the white people are moving into nice new condo and the people living off the system are moving into mine and yours neighborhood!! Felony trails is a prime example of this. The people in the housing units downtown pay as little as $9.00 a month to live there, the houses in the Trails are $200,000. Atlanta is picking up the difference. I have seen my value go way down, as a matter of fact I would love to move and get out of here but no one is buying, just new renters!!!!!

So is Tributary still a decent place to live? I was over there the other day looking around and thought I might like to live there. I did see somethings on the outside of the homes that concerned me about the quality...faded paint being the one that stuck out the most.
