It is quite interesting that she will run for office again because from reading this and from what I know from personal expierience I have only heard of a few good things about her as a person and none of what she did for our county! Rita may be a nice lady but what she did (and let be done) to our county is ridiculous! I don't believe she brought the "Thugs" but when you start building low income homes, apartments, malls (look at Shannon mall) etc. they will come. I can remember going down there to eat...because Douglas County didnt have all this crap it does now and thats how we(the people who have lived here our whole lives liked it) I just recently watched my parents move to Carroll County after working their whole lives to pay off the home they bought in Douglas County 26 years ago just to get away from all of it and now with the housing market the way it is they will have to rent it instead of taking a huge hit with selling it. I noticed one person spoke about Rita lowered the millage rate? Well I believe I would've rather payed more money in taxes than not be able to go down hwy 5 without sitting in traffic or watch everyone I know move away from this county. I don't want to even start with Deborah Woody (Rita's personal assistant) who's son in law is a builder, Rita's husband was a builder....I wonder how they're doing now? Or maybe they moved off too?
