Have you noticed the new owners of the old Smokey Bones Rest has put a sign up...name of rest is S'more BBQ! Do we really want some more BBQ?

Douglasville doesn't have any BBQ places, and no, Hudson's doesn't really count. What Douglasville needs is a good BBQ place, as well as a good catfish place.

What's wrong with Hudson's? I haven't ate there in 10 years. But what about Williamson Bro? I have only ate there once! I liked Smokey Bones, ate there many times.

Seems like I read somewhere on Topix that Shane's BBQ is also moving to D'ville. We do need a REAL BBQ place no doubt!

Shane's will be open in April-May of 2012. And I completely agree. We need a "real" BBQ place in D'ville that is clean and comfortable.

Nothing wrong with Hudson's, they've got some good stuff, but they aren't what I consider a real "BBQ" place, they are a restaurant that serves BBQ. Williamson Bros isn't very good, IMO.

I have a few friends that can smoke a butt better then any of these chains or BBQ houses. One guy over in Stone Mountain puts a whole hog in a pit and lets it go all night long with a couple of people working it in shifts. Talk about fall off the bone good.

I guess this post wouldn't be call a "conflict of interest", but maybe it will be a bit of "self promotion". Nothing wrong with that.

Thanks for the info. When will you have a menu available and can you post a link to it?

Shane's has a website, and there is a location on the way to Carrollton off hwy 61 by the movie theater if you're inclined to try it out. Very good food.

I think it's funny how these random female names keep mentioning Shane's in different threads. The self promotion is getting a bit old.

I've only posted under the name "Shane". Anytime someone asks a question, I answer it. I am excited about coming to D-ville and am amazed at the enthusiasm for our concept.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Aries

Someone is being very informative and helpful, especially if you want them to explain something that you don't understand, so listen carefully to what they tell you. This is also a great day for making some travel plans, perhaps by arranging to visit a friend you haven't seen in a while or by discussing where you should take your next holiday.
