Clinton made one HELL of a speech tonight.

It just laid the truth out bare. He was on FIRE.

Not to mention, the convention floor looks like
America. At the RNC, it looked like a Wall Street
bankers club meeting.

"If you want a winner-take-all, you're-on-your-own society, you should support the Republican ticket. "If you want a country of shared prosperity and shared responsibility -- a we're-all-in-this-together society -- you should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden."

"Don't you ever forget when you hear them talking about this that Republican ecoomic policy quadrupled the debt in the 12 years before I took office and doubled the debt in the eight years after I left because it defied arithmetic,"

You know, I wonder WHY the DNC location doesn't have the DEBT calculator behind the speakers like the RNC location did? Gosh. I just can't figure that out.

"Don't you ever forget that Obama doubled/tripled our debt in 4 years over what Bush did in 8".

Well, which is it? Can't get the arithmetic to add up? It sounds like you're having the same problems as Ryan's budget plan. The math doesn't work.

Obama did have to spend a bit to stop complete anarchy are the Republicans destroyed our countries financial institutions. A lot of the debt kept adding up from the two unfunded wars and the unfunded tax cuts left over from the last Republican we left in office.

Who's going to fix this mess? The people who created it? "We can't afford to double-down and trickle-down."

Sandra Fluke did a great job of illustrating the choice we have between the Republicans and Democrats.

If you didn't watch it, you really should, it really outlines our options regarding how women will be treated should we as a society choose to put Romney in office.

I'll even make the link to Fox news:

Isn't it great that the Democrats aren't ashamed of their former presidents? George W Bush wasn't even allowed anywhere NEAR a microphone at the republican convention. Wonder why that was?

When do we get to hear from the last Republican president to hold office? He's still alive and well, isn't he?

"Shared prosperity" = Socialism.

"Investments" = more government spending.

I'm still laughing at the "voice" vote for including God and Jerusalem. It took 3x and they still didn't get it correct...the poor guy at the podium looked like he crapped his pants...

Of course I listened to it. None of her remarks were incorrect? Says whom? You?
Actual NUMBERS in regard to the trouble this country is in can be manipulated to favor the libs and you completely accept THAT as truth. THEN, some woman gets her fifteen minutes because she is mad that the government won't pay for HER birth control, so the conservatives are declaring war on women and you accept that as truth. THEN, I'm supposed to give credence to your posts because YOU said so?
Um.....no.

Fluke said the following:

in that America, your new president could be a man who stands by when a public figure tries to silence a private citizen with hateful slurs. Who won't stand up to the slurs, or to any of the extreme, bigoted voices in his own party. It would be an America in which you have a new vice president who co-sponsored a bill that would allow pregnant women to die preventable deaths in our emergency rooms. An America in which states humiliate women by forcing us to endure invasive ultrasounds we don't want and our doctors say we don't need. An America in which access to birth control is controlled by people who will never use it; in which politicians redefine rape so survivors are victimized all over again; in which someone decides which domestic violence victims deserve help, and which don't. We know what this America would look like. In a few short months, it's the America we could be. But it's not the America we should be. It's not who we are.

Everything she's referencing is a real-world recent occurrence. These things happened. Acts committed by Republican Presidential candidates, Vice-Presidential -candidates, Republican delegates, and top Republican mouth-pieces. It references Republican agenda points and Republican-introduced legislature.

She asks a valid question. Is that the kind of party you want running America?

The answer is clearly "no".

So, anyway: When do we get to hear a speech from the last Republican President?

I'd love to hear how well his policies worked for America, especially since the "new" Republican candidates want resurrect his policies almost to the letter.

Where's our proud last Republican President? Let's get him out in front of a national audience to tell us how his plans put a chicken in every pot.

Daily Horoscope for May 18

Cancer

Love could catch you by surprise today. You might be strongly attracted to someone who isn't your usual type at all but who makes your knees go weak all the same, or you could get caught up in an illicit relationship that's exciting because it has to be kept a secret. If you're already involved with someone they'll need plenty of freedom and won't appreciate feeling emotionally tied down. You need to let them off the leash for a short while!
