This week I use a newspaper clipping from the 1880s to trace the property owners down Sweetwater Creek to the river.

That is very cool, indeed. I am looking forward to reading this article. BTW - Loved your article about genealogy!

Great article and Good point

It’s funny that in the 1800s with no technology people interacted with each other more than they do now. It funny how the technology meant to bring us together seems to be pushing us further apart.

I remember in the early 60's going to Dog River or Sweetwater Creek and meeting families swimming and picnicking....LOL....what fun we had!!! But we have become civilized in DC now and that dosen't happen anymore.

It is a shame that you cannot do these things anymore. The city will not allow swimming in Dog River at the Banks Mill bridge. Yes, the city owns the land there. I think they even frown on you getting in Sweetwater at the park now.

Love your column Teach. As always.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Libra

Look after yourself today, dear Libra, because you don't have as much energy and self-confidence as usual. In fact, your spirits may be trailing around your ankles, making you feel wretched and listless. A pessimistic mood certainly won't help you cheer up, and you may be feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities or other people's problems. The fact is that you've got things out of proportion, but you'll feel better about them soon.
