It will be an uphill climb in the Seate. Pelosi had to call in every favor she was owed to get enough votes, and some of those promises will probably be broken when the final bill, should it pass the Senate, is written. Reid is going to have to do the same brokering and it might still die. Not going to count out the Dems though.

I would bet against that prediction.

The Senate knows better than to bypass a historic opportunity to take care of Americans in favor of making rich criminals richer. They might make some noise, and leverage all the political clout they can over passing it, but in the end, they will pass it.

Have you read what this bill does?

everyone should spend some time reading the above link.

Senate will be a tough battle, but may pass. It will, however, ensure some Dems losing their seats when the election rolls around. If they pass this bill, it will be political suicide for some.

The fact is that as of right now, the Dems do not have the 60 votes they need to pass it. Joe Lieberman has stated he will join the filibuster if a public option is in the bill. Lieberman and Olympia Snowe are the ones Reid is going to have to turn to get it through the Senate, and both are opposed to the public option as it is presented in the House bill. He may be able to turn them somehow, but its going to take some compromise that might push other votes to the "No" side.

One question: If the insurance we'll ALL eventually have with this heathcare bill isn't good enough for the president and congress, why is it good enough for us? Supposedly they are all exempt for life. Even if they are exempt just during their terms, why isn't it good enough for them??? EVERY time Obama or any members of congress have been asked that question, they've not answered. Doesn't that concern anyone other than me?
