Am I responsible? A few Saturdays ago my band and I were playing, the local VFW club. My drummer and I went by about mid-morning to set all the equipment up, so that we could do a sound check, and make sure all the other members mic’s and amps were properly adjusted. After we had everything set up and checked out, the drummer and I sat down to have a beer. We knew the bar maid, and she set us up with two cold ones, and then we began to talk. She asked if we could do her a favor, there was this guy that had been in there since about 7am drinking, and was bent over the bar drooling. She asked if we would give him a ride home, since obviously he shouldn’t be driving. Since it was raining outside we said sure no prob. The drummer and I tried to get him to stand up and he kept falling, so we decided to each grab an arm and help him to our van about three times he almost took us down with him. I had begun to think that being a Good Samaritan was not such a good idea. We finally get him to the van and try to get him in, once again down to the ground he goes. Buy this time we all three are soaked. But at last we get him in the van, and try to get him to tell us where he lived, but to no avail, so I dig till I find his wallet and away we go. We get him to his house, and finally get him the door after he falls two more times. We ring the door bell and his wife come to the door and we explain that we had brought her husband home from the VFW she thanked us very much but then asked us.“Where is his wheelchair”. Are we going to be responsible if they can’t find the wheelchair?
