It is appaling that we have police officers that have the logic of a first grader and a police chief that fails to communicate to the parade participants of his changes in the parade. Where was this Bozo, patting himself on the back or feeding his ego on a politicans praise, when all this lack of communications was happening.
The two officers should be fired and the chief should be reviewed by the hiring body.
Are they not to protect the citizen and the Constitution? Such stupidity!

Paid administrative leave! Isn't that the same as a vacation? These idiots are being rewarded for being stupid. Its a real shame that we have people like this in positions of authority and also people like the police chief and their lawyer to claim that they did the right thing. It seems that the only time you hear of "paid administrative leave", the positions are compensated by money from taxes. In my opinion this is not acceptable. We can do better.

Well I havent seen any recent post on this subject.
Have they executed the old man?
Here in our part of the country some of the local police chiefs and officers belong to our antique tractor club and participate in our parades.
Unfortunately, your area this is not the case.

I came across your forum and had to chime in. I am a member of the community and I believe the incident that had taken place in our little town was unfortunate. There are alot of facts that have been left out of this story that others across the world have read.

I was standing near the intersection when the incident began. An officer was at the end of the parade route directing all parade enteries as directed. The tractor driver refused the orders of the policeman and steered right for him and grabed an extra gear. The driver intentionally drove his tractor striking the officer in his arm and right leg. The officer gave chase on foot trying to stop the driver but he refused.

When the other officer picked up the injured officer, they chased the tractor for 2 blocks. The cruiser pulled in front of the tractor and when officers went to exit, the driver rammed the cruiser. Officers repeatedly told the driver to stop and to get off. The driver told them he'll get off when he was damn good and ready and went to drive off again. When the driver placed the tractor forward, another officer was in front of him. Thats when the officer standing on the left side of the tractor tased the old man. The taser didn't work as it should've and the driver took off again.

The officers tried to stop the driver but his stubborness provoke the incident and I do not blame the officers for doing what they did. His buddies, knowing that he was in big trouble, lied to what they saw to investigators. They claimed an officer also jumped up on the tractor and pistol whipped the driver. I for one told the truth and was interviewed twelve times in regards to the incident.

Now a select few of my community want the officers fired because driver is old and has a heart condition. It was he that provoked the drama caused and the town council, Mayor and yes the chief are willing to fire them because they want to avoid the political effects and save face. No justice was served and I don't know the officers personally but they are all good and decent people working hard to make our community safer. Its a same that we have such bullies as citizens in our community that think they run everything.
