"Cherish life, at all stages" is the catholic anti-abortion cry, but then they deny the life-saving organs of the pope because they want to worship his organs like idols in their shrines. They would watch a person die, rather than give up the pope's liver from their idolotry. CATHOLICS = HYPOCRITES

By refusing to donate the pope's organs against his own wishes because of silly idolotry, the catholic church is being hypocritical. You might have a point if there was an excess of donated organs sitting around with no one to use them, but that is clearly not the case, proved by the existence of organ waiting lists.

How are they being "hypocritical", Barney? He can't donate His organs now because he's Pope. Sorry you don't like it, but them following their own teachings amd traditions isn't "hypocritical".

Because they would gladly trample on the rights of people with their cry to "cherish life", but would watch a man die rather than give him the pope's liver. they say that we should never withhold life by aborting a fetus, but then withhold life by denying organs. to say one thing and do the opposite ... that's hypocritical.

Sorry you don't like it, but them following their own teachings amd traditions isn't "hypocritical". "teachings and traditions", HA! What has been the teaching and tradition of the church regarding organ transplants? Oh yeah, here in Leviticus it says "And Lo! Thou shalt donate thine organs to thine bretheren upon thy death, unless thoust are the papal servant of thine LORD. No man shalt taketh the organs of thine pope, for thy pope is the LORD'S moste holy servant, and his organs beest too holy for thine swine bretheren who art a disgrace unto the LORD" So ever since the first life saving transplant surgury back in the ancient times of 1954, the pope has always been forbidden from saving a life after his own death.

Not quite, Barney. Abortion isn't "witholding" life-the unborn are already alive. What actually IS hypocrtical is that you accuse the RCC of trampling "rights" and reinforce your point by claiming a right to dictate organ donation. Instead of trotting out the shopworn "hypocrite" charge, just say you think he should remain a donor.

What actually IS hypocrtical is that you accuse the RCC of trampling "rights" and reinforce your point by claiming a right to dictate organ donation. Where do you get your imagination? I'm saying the pope has the right to donate his organs if he chooses, which he did, by registering as an organ donor. It's the RCC that's refusing it. Instead of trotting out the shopworn "hypocrite" charge, just say you think he should remain a donor. Trying to defend the RCC is a hopeless cause. They are hypocrites. They won't let the pope donate his organs because it will cause confusion with their idolotry.

Barney- Even the most ardent supporter of abortion rights will stipulate to the fact that the contents of the womb are indeed "living". The Pope cannot donate his organs-his body belongs to the Church once he's made Pope. That's what they teach. They can teach and believe as they wish, yes? They don't require 'defense' for acting with regard to their religious beliefs, do they?

Even if his body belongs to the church (which is weird), why then would the church forbid the donation of his organs? They ask for the donation of everybody's money, time, and posessions, but when it comes to giving up what they "own" like a person, then they balk at giving to the poor. Whatever strange ownership the church has over the pope's body, they would hold on to it as an idol to worship, rather than give the liver to a dying man. The church is a joke. A hypocritical joke. They cherish life less than they cherish their own posessions and idols. They would watch a man die so that they can violate the commandments. And yes, they do require defense to their teachings and practices when it is obviously hypocritical.

They and their beliefs require defense from the judgement of Barney Almighty. Sure.

Who owns the pope's organs after his death and would hold them in their temples to worship as idols? Who would watch a man die of kidney failure while enshrining the pope's kidneys in an altar to worship? And yeah, they do owe me a defense for the years that they sucked from my life, lying to me the whole time. Indoctrinating me through my youth, claiming me as a member at only 3 weeks of age. This church is a joke.

This organization attempts to lobby and legislate people that do not wish to be members. As such, it is subject to public scrutiny. Are you so proud of your hypocritical organization that you feel the need to defend it even to the point of being a patronizing jerk on the internet? Are you going to show us the hypocritical "love" of the catholic church by sitting here and insulting me for being upset with it?

And, yeah, they're subject to public scrutiny-even scrutiny of the tabloid sort, like, well, whether the Pope's an organ donor or not. You don't like them-fine. To bray about their beliefs when you don't understand them is even OK, but you started off with insults ("hypocritical"), now you're complaining that I'm the jerk (which is hypcriti.....). Never mind.

Never mind. calling someone a hyposcrite isn't an insult if it's true (which it is, when it comes to the catholic church). additionally, I'm not claiming to be a god-fearing, people-loving, service organization that receives tax exempt status from the government, so if I choose to insult something, it's not hypocritical. You don't seem to understand words very well.
