What about my son who is white and gets targeted by kids of different colors. Calling him derogatory names and threatening violence. Will the ACLU be there to protect his interests? It seems likely they will not. And when u read this article can someone tell me what anecdotal evidence is and how it can be relevant in determining guilt?

1 Understand the role of the ACLU before you start complaining. Anecdotal evidence means there were instances where allegations seemed to be supported, but these instances were not consistent or widespread enough to be called conclusive evidence, i.e., "the plural of anecdote is not data." |

|
Yeah.. the ACLU isn't a non profit organization. They do recieve part of the settlements. It's just big business payed for by tax payers.

1 Funny, but tax records and state corporate databases say you are full of shit. They are registered as a non-profit corporation. ALL groups that engage in civil rights groups are sometimes entitled to awards when the government is found to have done wrong. To act like the ACLU is somehow different or special in this regard is very disingenuous. |
||||
Oh really? So how does that work. If a Government agency (Local or federal) is sued then where does the money "Sometimes" come from? From the employees? |

1 If the government loses, they pay. If you don't like it, tell Congress to repeal s. 1985 The ACLU is no different than any individual or organization that takes the government to task for what they do. Like the ADF. The NRA. The NAACP. The KKK, if their rights are being violated. The NOW. Baptists. Whatever. To act like the ACLU is somehow sponging off taxpayers is, as I have already said, disingenuous. And the legal arm is a non-profit corporation. Their lobbying arm falls under some other kind of non-profit classification. This is true Federally and in every jurisdiction I'm aware of. So yeah, you are full of shit. |

Well if the Government is sued then it is the tax payers who are paying the bill. There is a hole in your logic. |
||||
There's a hole in your head. The law permits any group suing the government for redress of greivances (you know, that stuff in the Constitution). ANY GROUP or individual, and people and groups do it all the time. To act like the ACLU is somehow special in this regard is horseshit. |

Go aclu now you can destroy the schools in Antioch. It's hearbreaking to see what they have done.

They sue the city and who pays the lawsuit? Does it come out of the pockets of teachers (not that it should). No, In the end it comes out of the pockets of Tax payers. Why is the ACLU destroying Antioch? Why doesnt the ACLU go after the richie dot com'ers who bought up all the poor neighborhoods in the filmore to make it trendy? Because maybe it's all apart of a bigger system to push the troubled element away from the bay area and into the central valley. Antioch isn't the Bay Area. It's the gateway to the delta region. So it makes sense Antioch was chosen to be the first city to "dump" the troubled families. fking as5 fkrs.

No they won't. Nobody represents the interests of whites who are targeted by racists. It is of no interest and is a non-story. Get used to it. |
||||
"destroying Antioch" LOL Put the crack pipe down. The ACLU is doing nothing more than trying to make the government follow its own laws. You people are unbelievably misinformed. Stop listening to far-right propanganda for once. |

1 Really? Burning and looting? Blowing up buildings? It's quite obvious that you know very little about the ACLU and what they actually do and why. You also don't seem to understand the difference between "libertarian" and "socialist." HOW VERY SAD that you think our wonderful Constitution is "evil." |

1 Go to hell. I'm not a crackhead. I'm not far right or left. I'm just a middle class white middle age man who gets screwed by mostly White politicians (now becoming a class over race) and the damn liberal elite who pretend to care for the poor but somehow the poor gets some form of profit from these lawsuits in the form of a big free house payed by tax payers or from a huge settlement. Middle Class Gets Screwed. The Local Government Gets Screwed. The Federal Government pays for their free homes but don't pay for local government lawsuits. That lawsuit dips into funds alocated to the people from different cities and counties. It is our money that is taken away. they the local government wants to raise taxes a half a cent. This is just an endless cycle of crap. |

1 Like I said, this has little to do with the ACLU and more to do with your disagreement about the civil rights laws Congress passed in the 60's. If government followed the rules, it wouldn't have to pay, would it? There has to be a deterrent, right? Hello? |
