In Connecticut, educators are crowing about a somewhat higher national placement and reading scores...even though math numbers are down.

Can you say "liberal arts" education?

The dumbing of America is readily evident in many Topix posts, and poor English/spelling is just the least of it.

I would have thought most stupid people would not put their inferior intelligence out there for all to see.

LOL!!! But Carey shows up regularly, as lame and as ugly as ever, and shows his stuff. He's as appealing as Rush Limbaugh in a Speedo, but Carey doesn't care...

Teachers need to be paid by the hour, since they are unionized.

Oh, really???

Do you pray?

I suggest next time you talk with God, thank Him for making it impossible to know me on the street.

If you started something, you probably wouldn't like how it would end.

BIG CLUE: If you did see me, I doubt you'd stick with that plan. People who do know me don't settle their differences with me that way. Nobody has tried since high school.

And that last one, I bet the instigators would have taken a do-over in a heartbeat.

So sorry...your wrong. MA is a highly unionized state & our scores went up. You'll need to find another reason to demonize unions.

AP

Average SAT scores in Massachusetts climbed slightly from last year, and remained well above the national averages.

According to figures released Tuesday by the College Board, the more than 60,000 Massachusetts students in the class of 2009 who took the college-entrance exam scored an average of 514 on the critical reading portion of the test, and 526 on the mathematics portion.
