I am trying to decide about sending my daughter to Holly Hill academy or Calhoun Academy. Can anyone give me some insight into either school?

holly hill academy is a name game. if your new to the school or town and your not loaded, it's not worth it. cant' speak on calhoun, but Dorchester academy in st. george is good for academics and sports.

I went to HHA for a good many of years. 4th grade thru 11th. Changed schools to a public school and slept my entire senior year. HHA is the best academics school that i know in the area. DA (Dorchester Academy) was more in to sports during my time in the area. Lived in Harleyville for 17 years.

I go to HHA. It is a good school. The teachers are wonderful. They are always trying to help the students if they need help or either extra help. The only problem that HHA has is fitting in. It is extremely hard to unless you know someone. Since HHA is a smaller school everyone in every class pretty much has known each other for many of years so we have our own little groups but anyway you look at it you will always have that in any school. alrighty thats all i can say, hope i helped.

I will out in my plug for CA. I attended back in the 1970's and now have 2 children that attend. One is a Junior the other in 7th grade. I believe it is a great place for kids to get an education in the classroom and outside of it. I am pleased with the teachers and coaches. The people are friendly and fair.

My family is new to the area and my son has always been in public school but I must ay we are very pleased with HHA. I have found the community has been very excepting and my son has not complained about anything related to HHA. He does sometimes miss his old school but it was the only school he ever new. Teachers and coaches have been top notch. I would recommend HHA and we did look at Calhoun. My son felt more comfortable with HHA.

I went to HHA for almost my entire lower/middle and high school experience. I will say it is definatly a great choice. When i went on to college i was ahead of the other students, and it lead to a great job choice in the military and very fast promotions. As always you'll deal with the normal BS of schools, however, the academic requirements are amazing. I admit i never really liked going to school there for my own reasons, but I will always be thankful i went. I still can't spell worth a crap though...(sense of humor is a must)
