Okay, So we got rid of the row houses on 6th street....All that was done, was a moving of the problem area to other parts of our town. Has anyone looked at 2nd street lately? When I was growing up here, 2nd street was all beautiful single dwelling homes... Now its all chopped up as apartments.( and I can just imagine who these landlords are) Incidently, when did the Jeannette Manor become available to anyone? It used to be a safe place for our older citizens to live. Now when you ride past it, it looks like 5th & 6th street all over again! I believe more money needs to be available to our police dept. to clean up the areas where drugs are being sold, and used. Does anyone remember when we had more police out patrolling, and walking the streets? I do..Our City seems to think that 1 or 2 policemen per shift is enough, I say IT IS NOT!!!!
Jeannette Gardens would be MY first cleanup!!!! While it helps some, it is abuse at its finest! Where else can you go and pay 20 or 40 dollars a month in rent, and have so much assistance money left over for drugs and alcohol? I believe, if you want assistance of any kind, first you should be drug tested! If you fail that test, you will not be given MY taxpayer dollars to fund your addiction!!!More than half of the people there should be thrown out, and forced to work! I see ALOT of them where I work, driving in with their cell phones attached to their heads, head to toe in jewelry, buying all kinds of crap, and handing me their ACCESS card thru their freshly manicured and acrylic nails...
I truly believe, if you want people to move here, then it needs to be cleaned up in other ways, besides building new houses, and hoping someone will buy them!I know we are not all LUCKY to be living at the Jeannette Gardens, and having everybody taking care of our bills, but if you can afford the 4 dollars a gallon for gas, take a ride around our city, and see if you see the things that I see????? Then ask yourself what can WE ALL do to fix this problem...?

heres the deal people, whatever side your looking from..we all have ONE thing in common, we want the BS in this town to STOP. PERIOD. heres the question...just how bad do you want it to stop? if your realy sick of the BS then get off your ass', go out side and look around. what do you see? kids, teenagers running the streets all hours of the night. you see degenerates walking around with a chip on their shoulder as if everyone owes them something, trying to let everyone know what a billy bad ass they are..its ridiculous. peoples cars get vandalized in the middle of the night, dogs get poisoned, people have their property damaged, stolen...yet who is willing to make a stand? who has the balls to go outside and tell these people ENOUGH!! yeah..i do, and i have. and ive had to have a brand new truck repainted 3 times for my efforts to clean up our street. i dont understand you people..you have total contol of the situation, you have the power in yourselves to clean the town up..but instead you trash talk the police who are severely underfunded and understaffed. yes, we DO need more officers..but the problem is, what does the city council do? yep...we have no REAL police department, no business will move in, no one WANTS to live here and our real estate market is the lowest in the county because of it..our homes are between $30,000 and $40,000 UNDER value of the current market because of it all. but we sure do have some pretty fire trucks..if your ok with the BS all hours of the night, your property not being safe, your kids in danger from the want to be thugs who THINK they are tough, and having the absolute worst reputation as a community in the entire area, not to mention having it cost you thousands in losses..then by all means, say im crazy..keep the belife that there is nothing you can do. BUT..if you think like i think, and you see what i see...then take the fight to them, its time the community as a WHOLE getts off of their collective ass' and goes to the council meetings and DEMAND ordinances be set in place, and ENFORCED harshly. thats the first step. second step..wheres the money going? our taxes go up..but i dont see a damn thing being done except new trucks and park benches where none are needed. and heres the bottom line people..if the mayor and the city council fight this..then we need to elect a mayor and city council who WILL do something. people will not buy here or place a business here as long as the degenerates control the streets. that is the root of all the problems. ive only lived here 6 years..and i can say everything i have ever heard negative about the town is absolutely true..and its your own fault for letting it get this way. but i can see why some of you love this town..it has so much potential, most of the people are nice family people, but they have no spine to stand up and take control. its a shame..it really is, the town could flourish so easily. so how about it...are you REALLY sick of it all? then like ive been saying..get off the ass' and DO SOMETHING!.

i put this here as well to reiterate my point.

MarcyLynn...you read my mind
