Kindred Spirits Animal Rescue Shelter Challenge

Lets help out Kindred Spirits Animal Rescue by going to the following site: theanimalrescuesite.com and voting for Kindred Spirits. This site offers grants to animal shelters with much needed food and support. It is easy, go to the site, look for the purple banner at the top of the page that says, "Your Actions Here Fund Food And Care For Rescued Animals." Just below this banner there is a big purple button you push and it will take you to the page to vote. On the next page there is a place to pick your state, input the city, and click. I did this putting in Fairdealing, MO and the Kindred Spirit Animal Rescue Shelter was listed. Everyone needs to vote whether or not you live in the area. YOU CAN VOTE DAILY. Please help. Thank you.

Why the attitue? They aren't hurting you and if people were responsible for the pets they get and had them fixed then places like this wouldn't have to exist.

It's ot the animals it is them.. why are they chargin that much fro a freakin mutt dog...

I will try and answer your stupidity for the help of others who may read this since you don't seem to have any understanding of the problem and do not care to learn.

In 2010, after the Puppy Mill bill passed, it angered the puppymill people. These same people, along with their money and influence, bought enough of the state legislature to pass a bill that would REQUIRE animal rescue organizations to charge for adopting dogs. This is an outrage because most agencies who take in abandoned, abused or stray animals do not have the money to pay the tax for each animal adopted. This is a terrible burdon on them and the tax was originally meant to tax the puppymills which are one of the biggest causes of abandoned dogs in the state along with negligent owners. There are two bills coming up in the state legislature that are meant to do away with this tax. So, VOTE at this site to help out. Try to do good with your time instead of wasting it on crap like you posted on here.

Why pay for a dog when you can drive down a back road and pick up a starving one?

I would hate to live next door. I live over a mile away and I can hear all the barking at my house. Get rid of some of the dang things. Thats disturbing the piece.

The cost you pay for adopting from ksarc, include the spay/neutering, rabies vaccinations, worming if needed.
Most that we get are NOT healthy, and have to be treated. We had dogs dumped in plastic bags, left in boxes on road side, mother dogs that were left to fend for their puppies, and all 5 were dehydrated and starving.
NO we are NOT hoarders. We search for homes for every dog and cat,and have out of state shelters assisting us. Our inventory changes DAILY.
It costs us 56 dollars a day to feed just the dogs.

These people are terrific and are doing a great job. I support them completely. I am also sending them Best Choice labels to help out and dog food coupons which is all I can do at this point as I have 3 rescue dogs and 1 rescue cat. I rescued a dog from the Dobbs "shelter?" years ago after Jerry threatened to shoot him, even after we rescued him. Nuff said? Support Kindred Spirit. They're doing what needs to be done in this area. You gripe about animals being dumped but they're trying to get them off the roads and adopted.

You must all hate animals.

Odd. I live a mile from them and I don't hear anything. Why are you so angry? Were you not hugged enough as a child?

I have gotten a dog from them that was abused and it dont cost no more that if you were to go and get your dog properly taken care of...yes you could go and get any ol dog and not pay as much but I bet you would not take it to get its shots or have it fixed. What they are doing is a great thing and I could not ask for a better dog!!!!!

as a matter of fact YES i do love animals and YES i do take GOOD care of mine. They have all been spayed and wormed.. An NO it didnt cost me 150 freakin dollars to do it at all..I had stopped by there to check things out and low and behold the dogs were locked up in a shed. There was approx. 9-10 dogs in 1 pen.. Now come on if your gonna run/open up a rescue atleast have a freakin place to put them.. And man it stunk bad... lower your prices and you will get more dogs rescued.. Now when you" re-located some of the dogs did the other people pay you for the do or did you just ship it out without a "relocate" fee

You have no idea what your talking about there has never been 9 to 10 dogs in one kennel unless your talking about one of the dogs that was brought in pregnant. We wont take puppies that are still feeding away from thier mother. Instead of putting us down come and help out. Alot of these animals have been seriously hurt by a person. You have no idea of what its really like here or how much it cost to have them fixed up after being beaten or used as bate for pitbulls. Get some knowledge about what we are about before you go judging. I have worked here for about 3 months and the things I have seen of the after affects some of these babies have been through before we got them would just break your heart.

Just for anyones info... I had my dog spayed 2 years ago. The cost at Hillcrest Animal Hospital was $125.00, the cost at Dr. Fox was $130.00. Add this to the cost of vaccinations and it's obvious that what Kindred Spirits charges is a bargain.
If you would rather pick one up on the side of the road for free, be prepared to treat that animal for heartworm, parvo, tick infestation and any other illness it may have. You'll soon find out that your "free" dog is anything but. Kindred Spirits is an awesome organization and desrves everyones support, not some of the negative bull---
I've seen here!!!

The people at Kindred Spirit are, in my opinion, wonderful folks. I've had to take 2 pups to them that were dropped off at my home and both were taken excellent care of. I didn't just drop the pups off and go on my way, I made sure to check in on them and they were clean and well fed. I've dropped off supplies a few times and wish I could do more.
