My family is considering relocating to Discovery Bay however I heard that due to the foreclosures and the sinking economy Discovery Bay (much like other inner cities) is beginning to experience an increase in crime and gang activity. There have been lots of home break-ins, property damage, theft, drugs (specifically Meth and Marijuana). Particularly suspected Meth Lab-houses.

I also understand that Discovery Bay also has two full time Sheriffs onboard now permanently to help "clean-house" and get the crime under-control.

Can anyone shed some information, opinions and insight on this issue?
