Huffman once again demonstrates why he is part of the problem instead of part of the solution. Taxpayers are tapped out. They will not support new taxes or new fees.

A large part of our budget problem is directly related to the public costs of illegal immigration but I've never heard Huffman say a thing about it. Why not? Another huge cost to state government are public employees and their excessive benefits. Yet I haven't heard Huffman address that problem either. Why not?

No Dem or Rep will address the immigration issue. We need a new 3rd party in charge. We just defeated tax increases on May 19th. Huffman does not get it. Another iniiative is a waste of time. Cut the illegals beneifts, Cut welfare, cut the big state salaries, Cut the Carol Migden waste management type boards.

Illegal immigrants are a red herring regarding the issue of state parks. I'm no fan of illegals, but Jared makes an accurate financial assessment that parks generate more tax revenue than they cost. Closing the parks throws the baby out with the bathwater. One way to get out of state visitors to pay their fair share of the benefits of state parks is to levy a statewide hotel tax or car rentals. About 1/4 to 1/2 percent ought ot cover the shortfall.

Save The State Parks

http://www.thepetitionsite.com/3/save-califor...

It is time for the small # of legislators in Sacramento to get behind keeping the state parks.
If they don't they most likely are writing their own destiny in the next election.
This is an important issue for the people of California.

Enjoy a state park today.

I think saving the land and animals in the parks is more important then just saving some legacy.

When was the last time you drove over to the legacy for a day of fun and relaxation? I think polititions should put money in places that are important like parks and forests and such. Hell with this legacy leave that for someone in the future . Lets deal with Parks and forests now.

There could be only one solution in saving public parks in these times:

Those who really love to keep them public, organize a non-profit group and donate. You can't tap the taxpayers, many of whom lost jobs, homes, and struggle. Another group of people maybe never care for going to parks, and rightfully see from their level that is a waste of money.

With our economy and lives in shambles, subsidizing parks is a luxury.
