This to be paid by the citizens of Bacliff in the form of higher property taxes! We currently are approximately $10,000,000 in debt and have about 2,700 households in Bacliff. If this bond issue passes we will be in $18,000,000 in debt, approximately $6,666 per household.
WTF, are these guys at the MUD on crack?

Homeowners, keep your mouths shut and pay your taxes. If we wanted to hear from you, we would let you vote. Stay home and we will vote for you!

Good point! The manager of this rinky-dink MUD, Mr. James Wistinghausen pays himself $97,000 a year, plus expenses, plus a new pickup truck, plus paid health insurance, plus a fully paid pension plan, plus lord knows what else behind the scenes (James is also Chief of the MUD funded Volunteer Fire Department). Anybody who never made it past high school, but drags down that kind of money, MUST know what he is doing.

Do you really think he knows what he is doing; or is he just another local Kin folk living off local government welfare job. The whole county operates like Bacliff. Don't let them fool you. His cousin is probably a local Police Chief in this County.

Bingo! James is totally related to his entire support staff, at the Bacliff MUD and local VFD (which is financed by the MUD).
Government welfare on a grand scale.

Sorry folks but you are wrong about James. He did get his high school diploma and he has no relatives that work for the Bacliff MUD. No cousin works for the Police and he does not do drugs. Go spread your lies some place else.

Sad to see people out there running their mouths without facts to back them up! Fact: James does his job. Period. Fact: If this bond is not passed, it will cost our community more money. I don't like drinking trash water and that is what it will come to. Things are leaking into our water and it's due to an old system. Did you understand that? "OLD" I for one, like to drink clean water. I also would like to upgrade our community to a basic system that my children and grandchildren can tolerate.
I was raised in Bacliff but have been all around our great nation. Being a tight wad doesn't help this city by the bay. You live here because you are cheap and I understand that but when it comes to safety you guys suck! Stop thinking of ways to make this community the bottom of the trash barrow. Instead try and think basic needs. You might like to live this way but I for one LOVE this little town and would like to see it keep the people here out of harms way.
As far as the insurance they provide for their employees, it's very basic! As far as the pay, it's below the national average!
I don't expect this to remain here because this isn't the official site for M.U.D. This site is run by someone who doesn't feel like we deserve better. I do believe in us and will continue to care about everyone who lives here and fight for that till the day I die.

Step down off your soap box and give up your government welfare check. You might as well stay home and collect your check, I have not seen any of you earn it anyway.

Mr Soap Box, It seems that you assume that everyone that lives in Bacliff gets a check from the government. So that clearly tells me that you are a person that is lacking basic knowledge, or you automatically assume everyone is looking for a free ride. With that said, I am terribly sorry hear that such ignorance still runs wild.
I personally grew up in Bacliff, and my family NOT ONCE received a government check. I am also aware that Bacliff is lower-income Housing, BUT that doesnt mean the people of Bacliff do not deserve a new water system.
You should really spend your time looking for a real solution to the "issue", rather then blindly judging complete strangers. Because sir there are people in this town that still care.

Mizz Thang, you must have misunderstood what I was writing. I was not referring to the poor folks that get a check, I was referring to the government checks for the local low life leaches that tax the citizens and fill their pockets with out earning a dime.

What government check are you talking about? I receive no such check. And I guess you feel like I'm a low life leach? I tax citizens and fill my pockets without earning a dime? And my concern for the community makes me stand on a soap box? You don't know me mister so why are you stating things you know nothing about? Bore much? I'm starting to think you are on crack. Your comments are just like you, based on no facts. You, sir, are waste of space, but our Lord and savior says I must be kind to souls like you, I will do my best.
I believe you are the type that likes to push buttons. I have no problem with that. What I have a problem with is that you don't like facts. In my world facts inform people. You, sir, are talking out your ass for entertainment. Which bores people except yourself. That is a fact based on your comments:) Have a good day, I know I will. P.S. Try getting an education or try spell check also:)

Sounds to me like the person slamming James Wistinhausen, has it in for him or is eaten up with jealousy. People spout off without knowing the real truth. James and the water department as well as the fire department will be there for you, even with your bad attitude. Nobody wants to pay higher taxes.
Also, nobody wants to be without water or have their house burn down. Bacliff MUD is necessary. It is necessary to expand their storage facilities. They need more land and a bigger office as Bacliff continues to grow. I live on Social Security and I certainly do not want my water bill to get any higher and that is what will happen if this bond fails. Are YOU ready for higher water bills? That's what voting no will do, most likely the taxes would be lower than and increase in water bills. VOTE YES FOR THE BOND!

Are you kidding. Vote no and lay off the government leaches. Use the funds that you already suck out of us. Survive within your budget. If you can not afford the upgrade now, save til you can afford it.

Daily Horoscope for June 2

Taurus

Be careful if you're supposed to be saving money, because it's likely to fly through your fingers in no time at all today. You're open to all sorts of delicious impulses now, such as splashing out your hard- earned cash on little treats or big purchases. Indulgence is the key here, and you'll also want to push the boat out if you're going to a restaurant for a meal. You'll work your way through the menu, regardless of the cost.
